Job Description
- Clean and maintain assigned production, warehouse, office, restroom, breakroom, common, and exterior areas according to established schedules and priorities.
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, dust, wipe down, and sanitize floors, surfaces, fixtures, furniture, doors, windows, and high-touch areas.
- Collect, remove, sort, and dispose of trash, recycling, scrap, packaging, and general waste in accordance with company procedures.
- Restock paper products, soap, sanitizer, cleaning supplies, and other assigned consumables.
- Respond promptly to spills, leaks, debris, and urgent clean-up needs to help maintain a safe work environment.
- Operate basic custodial tools and equipment such as brooms, mops, vacuums, carts, floor scrubbers, and approved cleaning products safely and properly.
- Perform basic facility upkeep tasks such as replacing small supplies, cleaning filters or vents within assigned scope, organizing storage areas, and supporting seasonal or special cleaning projects.
- Inspect assigned areas during routine work and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged property, lighting concerns, plumbing concerns, pest concerns, or supply needs to supervisor.
- Assist production departments with support tasks such as (but not limited to) moves, set-ups, and clean-up after work performed on boats.
- Follow all company safety procedures, chemical handling instructions, Safety Data Sheet requirements, PPE requirements, and applicable OSHA standards.
- Maintain cleaning closets, equipment, supplies, and assigned work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications and experience:
- Dependable attendance; attention to detail; ability to follow written and verbal instructions; ability to work independently on assigned tasks; basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and safe work practices; ability to identify and report hazards or maintenance concerns; good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Prior custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, general labor, warehouse, or facility-support experience preferred but not required. Experience using basic cleaning tools, supplies, and equipment in a commercial or industrial setting preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
