Transportation Sealing Specialist (Sales)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Transportation Sealing Specialist (Sales) based in the United States.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded sales professional to become a trusted sealing expert across transportation and logistics customer sites.
You will work directly with repair shops, depots, loading facilities, and fleet locations to identify sealing challenges and deliver practical solutions.
The role combines technical expertise, customer training, relationship management, and consultative sales.
You will help customers improve reliability, reduce costs, and strengthen maintenance practices through specialized fluid sealing products and programs.
A significant part of the role involves regular travel, hands-on technical support, and building strong relationships across your assigned territory.
You will also develop customer-specific training plans and track the measurable impact of technical and cost-saving initiatives.

Accountabilities:
  • Travel regularly throughout the assigned territory to identify, assess, and resolve customer fluid sealing challenges.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on sealing products, applications, and solutions for transportation and related customer operations.
  • Conduct on-site technical training at repair shops, depots, loading and unloading facilities, and other customer locations.
  • Promote and support specialized sealing products and programs, helping customers select and implement solutions that address their operational requirements.
  • Act as a key liaison between customers, repair shops, and internal teams to coordinate technical support and ensure effective resolution of customer needs.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships by providing responsive, knowledgeable, and consultative technical support.
  • Develop and deliver annual training plans tailored to individual customer requirements and operational priorities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve customer processes, reduce maintenance costs, and increase operational efficiency.
  • Document and communicate cost savings, technical support activities, customer outcomes, and other territory performance results.
  • Use Salesforce to manage territory activities, customer interactions, call planning, and follow-up activities.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute technical and customer insights that can strengthen products, services, and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM-related field, or a high school diploma combined with 5+ years of relevant rail tank car maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service and technical sales, preferably within a transportation, logistics, maintenance, or industrial environment.
  • Strong understanding of technical products and the ability to translate complex sealing or maintenance requirements into practical customer solutions.
  • Transportation or logistics industry experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Kaizen, Six Sigma, continuous improvement, or related operational excellence methodologies is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to deliver effective technical training to diverse audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and consultative selling abilities, with a customer-first approach to identifying needs and developing solutions.
  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage territory activities, customer priorities, travel schedules, and follow-up independently.
  • Comfortable working extensively in the field and interacting directly with customers and operational teams.
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required.
  • Willingness to travel 50% or more, including overnight travel within the assigned territory.
  • Ability to work full-time, Monday through Friday, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
