System Engineer (Electrification)

General Description

The System Engineer is responsible for developing automotive electrification systems based on OEM customer requirements. This position works closely with customers and internal engineering teams throughout concept development, design, validation, and product launch.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer requirements and translate them into internal system specifications and engineering workflows.
  • Develop and evaluate new product concepts, platforms, and system architectures.
  • Support technical discussions and negotiations with OEM customers regarding feasibility, cost, timing, and system requirements.
  • Create and maintain system-level requirements, specifications, and DFMEA documentation.
  • Support hardware design guidelines, validation plans, technical design reviews, and corrective actions.
  • Review electrical designs and support software and functional validation activities.
  • Lead technical problem-solving activities and support root-cause analysis.
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to ensure projects meet technical requirements, timing, and customer expectations.

Job Requirements

Work Experience

  • 510 years of experience in automotive electrification product design and development.
  • Experience working with automotive OEM requirements and customer-facing engineering activities preferred.

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of automotive electrical hardware architecture, schematic design, and electrification systems.
  • Knowledge of automotive development processes, including requirements management, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
  • Ability to interpret OEM customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of applicable automotive regulations and standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with customers and cross-functional engineering teams.
