Job Description
Position: IT Support Intern
Department: IT
Reports to: Senior IT Analyst
Organisation: Edconic
Rate: $20 per hour
Part-time: 10-15 hours per week
Summary
Reporting to the Senior IT Analyst, the successful candidate will support all aspects of IT including technical assistance for students, faculty and staff.
This role requires strong communication and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to build professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support
- Respond to and resolve incoming requests for technical assistance via email, in person, and through the Service Desk System.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to standard software applications, web applications, and desktop hardware.
- Prioritise and manage support cases while following up on outstanding issues.
Device and Classroom Support
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of computers, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Provide classroom support to ensure smooth operation during lessons and presentations.
Student Support
- Assist precollege students with accessing and using school systems.
- Provide guidance on technical issues to enhance students learning experience.
Required Skills and Knowledge
To perform successfully in this role, the individual must demonstrate the following competencies:
- Strong understanding of IT concepts, practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficiency in both PC and Mac hardware and software configurations.
- Experience with Microsoft 365, and other standard business productivity software.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to web applications and technology.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide clear and professional technical support.
- Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to diversity, inclusivity, and professional conduct.
- Ability to work on-site as required.
Education and Work Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong command of the English language.
Physical Requirements
The role may require:
- Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, crouching, and reaching.
- Lifting up to 25 lbs.
Work Environment
- Office and classroom/academic settings.
- Adaptability to different campus infrastructures as needed.
