LDC Position Description 2027-2028
Leadership Development Consultants focus on developing collegiate leaders and members, building sisterhood, and creating a sense of belonging and inclusion for approximately 20 chapters over 2 divisions, or through an in-residence position building a new chapter of Kappa Delta, or supporting the development of a portfolio of existing chapters
LDC Program for 2027-2028
Leadership development consultants are full-time salaried employees of Kappa Delta who serve as ambassadors for the organization by visiting chapters across the country, supporting sisterhood and inclusion efforts, mentoring collegians and supporting local advisors.
Division consultants may spend up to 50% of their time traveling to visit chapters across the divisions they support, and the rest of their time supporting chapters, staff, and volunteers virtually. In-residence consultants focus on a specific chapter on a university campus and may be called upon to travel at the discretion of the national headquarters to assist on special projects. Chapter development consultants may spend up to 50% of their time traveling to visit specific chapters they support, and the rest of their time supporting staff, and volunteers virtually.
Depending on the assignment, LDCs assist with leadership development of members, belonging and inclusion efforts, chapter recruitment and new chapter establishment. LDCs also gain valuable knowledge and skills in developing others, public speaking, facilitating meetings, team collaboration, budgeting, and reporting.
Leadership Development Consultants can be based in Memphis, unless they are required to live in-residence, or remotely and support chapters virtually. The one-year term lasts from June through May.
Requirements:
- College graduate by June of the year you are hired as well as be on alumna good standing with organization
- Leadership experience (council or Panhellenic recommended, but not required)
- Campus/community involvement (i.e., student organizations, work, volunteer positions, leadership awards, etc.)
- Impeccable written and oral communication skills including public speaking, presentation, and meeting facilitation
- Membership recruitment ability and experience strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal/relationship building skills.
- Superior time management skills
- Proven training and mentoring skills
- Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities
- Ability to identify problems and develop solutions that may include new processes or systems
- Ability to work independently and take initiative while remaining detail and deadline oriented
- Ability to travel intermittently, including on short notice.
- Valid Driver’s license and motor insurance or ability to obtain before any travel assignments.
- Financial good standing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct visits to chapters nationwide or support a specific chapter on a university campus
- Complete reports to the national organization by set deadlines utilizing a variety of technology platforms (including but not limited to SalesForce, ChapterSpot, BillHighway, Office 365, Google Sheets)
- Strategically think through problems with collegians, NLT and staff members, and escalate issues as needed to appropriate managers
- Assist the development of officers, chapters, and the national organization
- Serve as a liaison between National Headquarters and chapters
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with undergraduates, alumnae, and university officials at each respective chapter
- Instill the importance of sustaining an effective scholarship program to ensure academic accountability
- Promote university engagement through campus involvement, community service, and an effective public relations program
- Education and motivation for the chapter leadership and the full membership to ensure successful management of the chapter
- Act as a brand ambassador for National Kappa Delta
- Enhance chapter programming through creative and innovative ideas
- Work at HQ on special projects, as needed and determined by supervisor and the Director of Collegiate Experience

How to Submit Your Video via ADP
- Record your video on your phone or laptop.
- Create a YouTube account using any email address.
- Click Create in the top-right corner of the screen, then select Upload video.
- Choose the video file from your device to upload.
- Title the video with your full name (e.g., Mary Martin Olds).
- Click Next through the upload steps until you reach the Visibility page.
- Select Unlisted (anyone with the link can view your video).
- Click Save, then copy the video link.
- Paste the link into your ADP application profile in the "Do you want to tell us anything else?" field.
If you are selected for an in-person interview at Kappa Delta National Headquarters March 5-7, 2027, you will be required to submit two references - one of whom should be an alumna in good standing of Kappa Delta – who can speak to your ability to complete the job requirements. References are required for all candidates who attend in-person interviews.
