Maintenance Technician / Shift Engineer

Full-Time | In Person

The Ellison Hotel is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician / Shift Engineer to help maintain the comfort, safety, and appearance of our property. This role supports daily hotel operations through preventative maintenance, timely work-order response, and care of both interior and exterior spaces.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance in guestrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas
• Complete minor HVAC preventative maintenance and adjustments
• Respond to and resolve maintenance work orders promptly with guest service in mind
• Set up, maintain, and break down meeting and event spaces
• Maintain exterior areas including pool, parking lot, landscaping, and overall curb appeal
• Safely use and secure tools, equipment, and supplies
• Keep maintenance areas, carts, and storage rooms clean and organized
• Report major repair needs to the Maintenance Manager per hotel procedures
• Follow all hotel safety standards, policies, and procedures
• Work closely with the Chief Engineer and management team
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience (hotel or commercial preferred)
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building maintenance
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods
• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors

Schedule

• Evening and weekend shifts required
• Various shifts based on operational needs
