About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, providing tax planning and advisory services, managing client relationships, and mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate is a strong technical tax professional who takes ownership of their work and is committed to delivering exceptional service to our clients.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance or related field
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in tax accounting, preferably within a corporate or public accounting environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations in the United States.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- CPA license or CPA-track candidates are a plus
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review corporate, partnership, trust, and individual tax returns.
- Advise business clients on cash flow and compliance.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies for businesses and high net-worth individuals.
- Communicate with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits and resolve tax matters efficiently.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships through responsive and professional service.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior tax staff, fostering professional development and ensuring quality work output.
- Ensure compliance with firm policies, procedures and professional standards.
Skills:
- Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Proficient QuickBooks Desktop and Online
- Experience with Lacerte Tax a plus
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
