Job Description

Activities Director — Archbold Living Pelham

Description:

Education Requirements: High School Graduate or GED certificate and be willing to attend and complete an Activity

Director or Training Course.

Experience: Prefer a minimum of two years experience in a social or recreational program within the last

five years.

Required Skills: Must possess the ability to make independent decision when circumstances warrant such

action. Must possess the ability to tactfully deal with personnel, residents, family members,

visitors and the general public. Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and

enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they

are currently functioning. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be

willing to incorporate them into the existing activity programs. Must have a sincere desire to

work with the aged. Must have some understanding of the social, psychological and

recreational needs of the aged. Must have general computer skills in Word and Excel.

Physical Demands: Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday. Be able to cope with mental and

emotional stress of the position. Be in good health and demonstrate emotional stability.

Must be able to relate to and work with, ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and at times

hostile people within the facility. Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to push, pull

and move supplies. Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity

and work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
