Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified candidate for CNC Lathe Setup Operator in our Conventional Lathe Department. This is a first shift position.Hourly pay rate $35 and up based on experience.
RequirementsThe Setup Operator completes set-ups on Conventional Lathes with dual spindles, twin turrets, and live tooling. Setup Operators will have the equivalent experience of an advanced machine operator with the ability to maintain production on precision parts. They will maintain quality and safety standards; keep records; and maintain equipment. CNC is willing to provide training for select candidates. There is an opportunity for advancement in this position.
Responsibilities• Pull all necessary tooling for each job• Upload and Download programs• Prove out jobs with the ability to change/adjust the program• Create and update set up sheets• Identify, prepare, and load raw materials and work holding• Use of all inspection equipment, including RAM, Comparator, and CMM• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area complying with all Safety and ISO standards• Other duties as required
Qualifications & Skills• Proficient Machine Operator with 2-5 years CNC experience; understanding of common material types and coordinate systems• Ability to install and teach cutting tools• Ability to understand and set work offsets and transfer positions• Ability to finish bringing any part into tolerance after set-up is complete• Understand and edit G-code, M-code & programming experience• Basic understanding of GD&T required• Ability to qualify part to blueprint
Physical Demands and Work Conditions• Standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, handling, talking, hearing, visual acuity• Moving, carrying, lifting objects in excess of 50 pounds • Standing for extended periods of time
