Ideal candidates are analytical problem-solvers who thrive on tackling challenging technical issues, building trusted client relationships, and driving operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the modernization of the electric grid while collaborating with industry leaders and energy innovators.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead and execute complex generation, load interconnection, and transmission planning studies in alignment with ISO and utility methodologies, particularly within ISO New England and NYISO markets.
  • Provide technical oversight for model benchmarking, interconnection analysis, and compliance with evolving regulatory and technical standards.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on interconnection services, staying informed on industry trends, market developments, and regulatory updates affecting energy infrastructure projects.
  • Strengthen technical delivery processes, QA/QC frameworks, and engineering standards to ensure efficient, accurate, and high-quality project execution.
  • Mentor and develop engineering teams by fostering technical growth, accountability, collaboration, and client-focused problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advise clients on interconnection strategies, study results, risk identification, and opportunities to optimize timelines, reduce upgrade costs, and improve project outcomes.
  • Translate highly technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations that support commercial and operational decision-making.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to support business development efforts, contribute to go-to-market strategies, and assist with proposals and scope development.
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, technical forums, and professional events while contributing to technical publications and thought leadership initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience within the electric power or energy industry, with strong expertise in interconnection services or transmission planning.
  • Direct experience working with ISO New England, NYISO, utilities within those regions, or consulting organizations supporting those markets.
  • Hands-on experience with multiple interconnection and planning study types, including NYISO MIS/DIS studies, ISO-NE deliverability studies, benchmarking, and load interconnection analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of inverter-based resource (IBR) modeling, generation and load interconnection studies, transmission planning, EMT studies, and related power systems analysis methodologies.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard power system modeling and simulation tools such as PSSE, PSCAD, PowerWorld, PSLF, TARA, ASPEN, or similar platforms.
  • Strong understanding of ISO and utility interconnection standards, regulatory requirements, and grid modernization initiatives in the Northeast energy markets.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect technical analysis to commercial strategy and client outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams and client organizations.
  • Experience with EMT modeling, automation tools such as Python, C#, or SQL, or interconnection studies outside the Northeast is considered highly beneficial.
Benefits:
  • Comprehensive health and wellness coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% premium coverage for employees.
  • Generous paid time off and company holidays.
  • Employee ownership program offering long-term growth and investment opportunities.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with up to 4% company match and immediate vesting from day one.
  • Flexible work arrangements including remote and hybrid work options depending on role requirements.
  • Opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading experts in renewable energy, grid modernization, and advanced power systems engineering.
  • Professional growth and development opportunities within an innovative and mission-driven organization.
  • Remote work opportunity within the United States with limited travel requirements (approximately 10% or less).
