The Opportunity

We are looking for a driven, highly analytical, and future-focused Global Financial Controller (m/w/d) to lead our global controlling function from our Barcelona office. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will transcend traditional financial reporting to become a key commercial architect of our international growth, managing a team of approximately 10 people.

As we scale up, understanding our exact levels of profitability is crucial, as is managing the complexity of a fast-growing multinational company with expected revenues exceeding €200 million in 2026. You will be responsible for moving beyond the numbers to provide deep business intelligence, analyzing customer-level profitability, fine-tuning pricing models, and dissecting our performance country-by-country. Backed by Private Equity stakeholders, you will lead the integration of AI tools and financial automation to turn our financial workflow into a highly optimized, scalable global engine.

Success in the first 12 months

• Months 0-3: Assume ownership of the monthly/annual consolidated closing process; evaluate and take ownership of our current finance transformation plan (and financial data structures) to identify clear opportunities for improvement including immediate AI integration and automation.

• Months 3-6: Design and implement an advanced country-by-country profitability framework, establishing clear metrics to track the Return on Investment (ROI) of localized corporate expenditures and expansions.

• Months 6-12: Partner with Product and commercial teams to launch a dynamic customer profitability and pricing analysis model; successfully automate at least 50% of manual reporting workflows using modern financial technology tools and AI-driven anomalies detection.

1. Commercial Controlling & Business Intelligence
• Customer Unit Economics: Analyze and monitor customer-level profitability and pricing architectures, acting as a strategic advisor to leadership on contract margins and commercial structures.
• Geographical ROI Analytics: Define, monitor, and break down the financial split between operating countries, identifying specific country profitability metrics and assessing the ROI on our growth investments.
• Strategic FP&A: Own the global budget, planning, and forecasting cycles, providing the CFO and executive team with actionable, data-backed insights to guide international expansion.

2. Financial Controlling, Audit & M&A Integration
• Global Closings: Oversee accurate and smooth consolidated and multi-country monthly and annual closes under local GAAPs and IFRS. Working to optimize month by month closing process deadlines.
• Reporting Excellence: Champion the preparation of highly accurate financial statements and collaborate closely with the CFO to compile elite, high-impact Board Packs for our Private Equity partners.
• M&A structural alignment: Own the end-to-end alignment of newly acquired corporate entities into the Group infrastructure, standardizing ERP financial systems, accounting policies, and internal control frameworks.
• Synergy Tracking: Establish metric-driven frameworks to monitor, track, and regularly report on the financial synergies and operational efficiencies realized post-acquisition.
• Audit & Risk Management: Lead and coordinate global and local external financial audits while systematically identifying and mitigating cross-border fiscal and accounting risks.

3. AI Integration & Process Automation:
• Next-Gen Tech Adoption: Identify and implement AI tools and workflow automation enhancements within our financial compliance and reporting systems to maximize team efficiency and eliminate manual error.
• Systems Scalability: Drive continuous improvement across all accounting and financial systems, leveraging tools (such as NetSuite) to handle hyper-growth transactional volume effortlessly.

What we are looking for

1. 8–10+ years of total work experience spanning top-tier consulting/auditing (Big 4 preferred) and corporate accounting/controlling. At least 3+ years in a Financial Controller role within a fast-growing, technology-driven international platform.
2. Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of collaborating with non-financial teams (Sales, Product).
3. Practical experience implementing automation or AI capabilities into finance departments. Experienced with global ERP environments (NetSuite experience is a strong plus).
4. Strong analytical skills, goal-oriented, and teamwork with advanced accounting and finance knowledge
5. Hands-on and autonomous, managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, with experience on transformation programmes – with clear evidence of outcome delivered.
6. Professional fluency in English is mandatory. Professional proficiency in Spanish or Italian is highly valued given our corporate headquarters and leadership team footprint.
