Job Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Tax Compliance Coordinator based in India.

You will work with transaction and financial data, prepare recurring workpapers, maintain tax records, and support monthly, quarterly, and annual filings. The role offers the opportunity to collaborate with U.S.-based colleagues and external advisors across time zones. It is suited to a detail-focused professional who enjoys structured work, recurring processes, and maintaining high-quality documentation. The position is remote, with an expected visit to the Goa office for one week each quarter, provided performance requirements are being met.
- Compile, organize, validate, and maintain transaction and financial data used for U.S. sales and use tax compliance.
- Extract relevant transaction information from source systems using established reports, processes, and instructions.
- Enter, review, and maintain sales and use tax data in Vertex and other related tax compliance systems.
- Support the preparation of recurring sales and use tax return workpapers and filing packages.
- Prepare standard reconciliations, roll-forwards, schedules, and other supporting documentation for tax filings.
- Maintain sales and use tax calendars, filing trackers, jurisdiction lists, status logs, and other compliance records.
- Support exemption certificate tracking, documentation requests, and customer or vendor tax records.
- Gather and organize information requested by internal stakeholders, auditors, external advisors, or taxing authorities.
- Review data inputs and workpapers for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established templates.
- Assist with recurring compliance activities, documentation maintenance, data cleanup, and process improvement initiatives.
- Manage recurring deadlines effectively while maintaining organized and accurate support files.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in sales and use tax, indirect tax compliance, accounting, shared services, outsourcing, or a related support function.
- Hands-on experience with Vertex is required; Oracle EBS experience is a strong advantage.
- Previous experience supporting U.S. sales and use tax return preparation is required.
- Familiarity with sales tax exemption certificates, resale certificates, and indirect tax documentation is preferred.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, filtering, and working with large datasets.
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to consistently follow established processes, templates, procedures, and instructions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage recurring filing deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills when working with U.S.-based tax team members and external advisors.
- Comfortable handling high volumes of recurring transaction data and maintaining well-organized documentation.
- Self-motivated, dependable, process-oriented, and comfortable working independently on recurring compliance activities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across time zones and coordinate with a U.S.-based team.
- Full-time employment with a remote work-from-home model.
- Quarterly travel to the Goa office for approximately one week, subject to satisfactory performance and operational requirements.
- Opportunity to work closely with a U.S.-based tax team and gain international exposure.
- Hands-on experience with U.S. sales and use tax compliance processes.
- Exposure to tax technology and systems, including Vertex.
- Opportunity to develop expertise in indirect tax compliance, data management, reconciliations, and filing support.
- Collaborative environment with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency.
- Additional compensation, healthcare, perks, and other benefits may be provided according to the partner company's applicable employment policies.
