Hands-On, Full-Cycle Accounting
Hybrid | Full-Time | $95,000–$115,000 Annually with $8,000 Sign-On Bonus*
Take Ownership. Make an Impact. Build a Strong Financial Foundation.
Are you an experienced accounting professional who thrives on independence, enjoys solving problems, and knows how to manage the entire accounting function from start to finish?
We’re looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to take full ownership of accounting for a group of related healthcare and real estate entities. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’ll be the sole accounting professional responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, managing cash flow, and ensuring the organization’s financial operations run smoothly.
This is not a traditional supervisory role. We need someone who has personally performed the full accounting cycle—not simply reviewed work or delegated responsibilities to a team.
What You'll Do
- Own the Full Accounting Cycle: Personally manage accounting activities from transaction entry and reconciliations through month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Manage Multiple Entities: Maintain accurate books, intercompany transactions, real estate accounting, and entity-level reporting.
- Drive Financial Accuracy: Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Operate Independently: Establish accounting procedures, maintain internal controls, resolve discrepancies, and manage competing priorities without an internal accounting team.
- Oversee Cash, Payroll & Compliance: Manage cash flow, accounts payable, payroll accounting, financial deadlines, and supporting documentation.
- Partner with Leadership & CPAs: Provide actionable financial insights to the CEO and coordinate year-end workpapers and tax preparation with the outside CPA firm.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- At least 5 years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing the full accounting cycle independently in a small-business environment.
- Experience with multiple related entities, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accrual accounting, fixed assets, and financial reporting.
- Advanced QuickBooks proficiency required; experience with QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop/Enterprise preferred.
- Advanced Excel proficiency required, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and financial reporting.
- A self-directed, detail-oriented problem solver who takes ownership, meets deadlines, and follows issues through to resolution.
Bonus points for: Real estate accounting, healthcare revenue cycle experience, payroll accounting, and experience building accounting processes in a growing organization.
Why Join Us?
- Competitive salary: $95,000–$115,000 annually.
- Comprehensive benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, short and long-term disability, education assistance, Maryland Sick and Safe Leave, Paid Time Off (PTO), Life insurance plus retirement plan contributions.
- Direct impact: Work closely with the CEO and senior leadership.
- Autonomy and ownership: Manage the accounting function with the independence to improve processes and make a meaningful difference.
- Variety and challenge: Support multiple entities across healthcare and real estate.
Is This the Right Opportunity for You?
If you're a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys owning the numbers, solving complex accounting issues, and working independently without relying on a large team, we'd love to hear from you!
*$8,000 sign-on bonus will be paid in quarterly installments of $2,000 every three months, contingent upon continued, in good standing employment.
Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check, drug test, confidentiality/non-solicitation agreement, and any screening required by applicable licensing, accreditation, or payor requirements.
This job description describes the general nature and level of work being performed and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or qualifications. Duties may be modified as organizational needs change.
