This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Adaptive Planning Administrator / Technical Lead based in India.
This is a remote opportunity for an experienced Workday Adaptive Planning professional responsible for the administration, optimization, and technical evolution of an enterprise planning environment. You will combine deep platform expertise with technical leadership to improve financial planning, forecasting, consolidation, reporting, and data integration processes. The role sits at the intersection of Finance, FP&A, IT, data engineering, and business operations, giving you broad visibility across critical enterprise systems. You will help automate manual processes, strengthen data quality and governance, and enable scalable self-service reporting. The position also offers the opportunity to lead technical projects, improve platform performance, and support expanding adoption across business functions. Success in this role will be measured through reliable planning cycles, improved automation, strong user adoption, and compliance with security and audit standards.
- Own the configuration, administration, maintenance, and continuous optimization of the Workday Adaptive Planning production environment.
- Configure and manage dimensions, levels, hierarchies, attributes, versions, assumptions, modeled sheets, and cube sheets.
- Develop advanced Adaptive formulas using lookups, allocations, driver-based calculations, multidimensional logic, and scalable modeling approaches.
- Manage Data Agent processes and integrations, including secure connectivity, scheduled data flows, source-to-target mappings, transformations, and troubleshooting of failed loads.
- Partner with Data Warehouse, ERP, IT, and Finance teams to manage integrations, schema changes, data lineage, dependencies, performance, and service-level requirements.
- Maintain data mapping and reconciliation controls, investigate data-load exceptions, and resolve mapping, timing, and data-quality variances.
- Support budget, forecast, commit, and financial close cycles through effective version management, workflow configuration, locks, calendars, assumptions, and source-data loading.
- Design, build, and maintain dashboards, Hubs, OfficeConnect solutions, HTML reports, and governed self-service reporting capabilities.
- Establish and maintain reporting governance standards, including naming conventions, folder structures, refresh schedules, certified report catalogs, and report lifecycle management.
- Administer role-based security, access provisioning, periodic access reviews, and governance controls in line with compliance requirements.
- Lead technical troubleshooting and Tier 2/3 support, resolving platform, integration, reporting, data, and performance issues.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, playbooks, data dictionaries, interface documentation, SLAs, deployment procedures, and cutover/runbook materials.
- Lead user enablement through training, office hours, documentation, and ongoing support for Finance and other business users.
- Drive automation, platform scalability, performance improvements, and broader enterprise adoption of planning and reporting capabilities.
- Translate FP&A and business requirements into scalable Adaptive Planning solutions while coordinating technical projects across Finance and IT.
- Support audit, SOX, security, change management, and compliance activities by ensuring appropriate controls and documentation are maintained.
- Track platform success through reliable close and forecast cycles, reduced manual effort, user satisfaction, and compliance with security and audit standards.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning configuration and administration, including experience managing a production environment.
- Workday Adaptive Planning certifications, such as Essentials and/or Integrations, are preferred.
- Strong practical experience managing Adaptive integrations, automation, reporting, and enterprise planning processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, financial planning, forecasting, and financial consolidation.
- Hands-on experience with Workday Adaptive Planning Data Agent, including secure connectivity, scheduled integrations, source-to-target mappings, data transformations, and troubleshooting failed data loads.
- Experience with integration patterns such as JDBC connections to EDW/ERP environments, secure file transfers, REST APIs, and automated data pipelines.
- Strong SQL knowledge and understanding of relational data structures, with the ability to trace data issues across source systems, data warehouse tables, mappings, and Adaptive load results.
- Advanced experience designing and maintaining Adaptive modeled sheets, cube sheets, dimensions, levels, attributes, assumptions, versions, and alternate reporting hierarchies.
- Strong knowledge of OfficeConnect, HTML reporting, dashboards, and Hubs.
- Experience with security administration, governance, metadata management, master data, data stewardship, automation, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ability to establish and enforce report governance standards and manage reporting lifecycle processes.
- Knowledge of SOX compliance, audit requirements, access controls, and change management practices.
- Experience managing technical projects and coordinating effectively across Finance, FP&A, IT, data, and business teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the confidence to work across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical, scalable, and maintainable technical solutions.
