About the Role
United Finishes, a division of Artisan Design Group (ADG), is seeking a Junior Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Southlake, Texas.
This is a great opportunity for an early-career accounting professional who is ready to build hands-on experience across general accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and data analysis. You'll work closely with the Controller and finance leadership while learning ADG's accounting processes and supporting accurate and timely financial reporting.
This position is onsite five days per week at our Southlake office.
What You'll Do
- Support the month-end close process and help maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare and properly document general journal entries.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations, including bank and other general ledger accounts.
- Review accounting records and financial information for accuracy and completeness.
- Use Excel to analyze, verify, import, export, and organize financial data.
- Prepare accounting entries for applicable registers, journals, and logs.
- Research accounting questions and individual transactions and provide supporting analysis.
- Assist with preparing financial statements and other financial reports.
- Prepare documentation and supporting schedules for external audits.
- Maintain accurate financial data within accounting and consolidation systems.
- Learn and follow established accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling financial and business information.
- Support the Controller and CFO with additional accounting and finance projects as needed.
What You'll Bring
- Associate degree in Accounting or a related field required; bachelor's degree is a plus.
- 1–3 years of accounting or related finance experience.
- Working knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activity preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow within the accounting function.
Where You'll Work
This role is based in our Southlake, TX office and requires onsite work five days per week.
You'll work in a professional office environment with regular interaction across finance, operations, vendors, and leadership. The environment is fast-paced and requires the ability to manage changing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Physical Requirements
Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working on a computer. Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds. Ability to review detailed financial information and communicate effectively.
