We are seeking a QA Laboratory Technician to perform analytical, inspection, and testing activities within the Quality Assurance Laboratory of an advanced nuclear fuel manufacturing facility. This position plays an important role in ensuring raw materials, in-process products, and finished components meet strict quality, safety, regulatory, and performance requirements.

You will perform routine and specialized testing, prepare and track samples, operate laboratory instrumentation, collect and maintain test data, and ensure accurate documentation throughout the testing process. This individual will work closely with Quality, Production, and Engineering teams in a highly controlled and safety-focused manufacturing environment.

Candidates with laboratory backgrounds in other highly regulated or precision-driven industries such as aerospace, pharmaceutical, medical device, or advanced manufacturing are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical, physical, and material-property testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished components using approved laboratory procedures.
  • Ensure testing methods and inspection procedures are performed accurately, consistently, and in accordance with established quality requirements.
  • Receive, label, track, prepare, and manage laboratory samples while maintaining complete traceability throughout the testing process.
  • Operate analytical instruments, measurement equipment, and other laboratory systems according to established procedures and laboratory best practices.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, calibrations, and basic maintenance and promptly report equipment issues or abnormal conditions.
  • Collect, record, organize, and store laboratory data while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and data integrity.
  • Maintain complete and legible laboratory records, test reports, sample histories, and supporting quality documentation.
  • Identify and document test anomalies, unexpected results, equipment issues, sample variations, and other deviations requiring further investigation.
  • Support Quality and Engineering teams during investigations by providing accurate test data and laboratory documentation.
  • Follow quality procedures aligned with applicable nuclear and laboratory standards, including NQA-1 and ISO 17025.
  • Support internal audits, quality checks, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow strict safety requirements related to laboratory operations, hazardous material handling, radiation protection, and criticality safety.
  • Maintain laboratory organization and ensure equipment, samples, and materials are properly controlled.
  • Support extended commissioning and production campaigns as operational needs require.
  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory throughput and efficiency without compromising safety, quality, cost, or testing accuracy.

Basic Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering Technology, or a related scientific or technical field.
  • 1–3+ years of laboratory experience within a regulated, technical, or high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques, laboratory measurement tools, testing equipment, and laboratory best practices.
  • Strong documentation, data integrity, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow detailed technical procedures, work instructions, and safety requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize unusual test results or equipment conditions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Quality, Production, Engineering, and other technical teams.
