This is a senior engineering opportunity focused on building, configuring, and sustaining enterprise monitoring capabilities in a secure federal environment.
You will play a hands-on role in deploying and optimizing monitoring platforms that support system visibility, reliability, and operational resilience.
The position combines platform engineering, observability, automation, alerting, and event management.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate operational requirements into scalable and effective technical solutions.
Your work will directly contribute to minimizing downtime and maintaining reliable mission-critical systems.
The role also emphasizes troubleshooting, documentation, knowledge transfer, and continuous platform improvement.

- Configure, deploy, tune, maintain, and sustain enterprise monitoring solutions within secured environments.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, alerts, automation, and event-management workflows using technologies such as Splunk SOAR and Ansible.
- Support integration testing, technical validation, and production rollout activities for monitoring capabilities.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other cross-functional teams to translate monitoring requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Troubleshoot monitoring platforms, alerting mechanisms, and telemetry pipelines to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
- Proactively address platform performance and reliability challenges to help minimize downtime and maintain system availability.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including configurations, standard operating procedures, troubleshooting guidance, and lessons learned.
- Support knowledge transfer and contribute to consistent operational practices across technical teams.
- Work independently to diagnose complex issues, prioritize activities, and deliver solutions with minimal supervision.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of monitoring, observability, automation, and event-management capabilities.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience configuring, deploying, supporting, and maintaining enterprise monitoring tools, preferably within secured or highly regulated environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong understanding of enterprise monitoring, alerting, telemetry, and observability concepts.
- Proven troubleshooting skills across monitoring platforms, alerting systems, and telemetry pipelines.
- Working knowledge of IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms such as ServiceNow and integration with Configuration Management Databases (CMDBs).
- Ability to work independently in a secure enterprise environment with limited day-to-day oversight.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to diagnose complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Splunk SOAR and/or Ansible for automation and event-management workflows is highly desirable.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across engineering, operations, and other technical teams while maintaining a strong focus on reliability and service quality.
