Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our growing, fast-paced mental health team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on patients' lives while working in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including detailed patient histories and mental status examinations.
- Prescribe medications and manage medication regimens for psychiatric patients, ensuring appropriate follow-up and care.
- Provide follow-up care in 15-minute appointments, addressing any medication adjustments, side effects, and progress.
- Handle 30-minute transfer appointments, facilitating smooth transitions of care for patients referred to our practice.
- Conduct comprehensive 45-minute intake appointments, gathering essential patient information for effective treatment planning.
- Work alongside a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and medical support staff, to provide optimal patient care.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with practice policies and HIPAA guidelines.
- Collaborate with the medical team to adjust treatment plans as necessary and provide ongoing patient support.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner licensed in the state of North Carolina
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in psychiatric care or related field , including prescription writing.
- Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and treat psychiatric conditions.
- Strong understanding of psychopharmacology and evidence-based practices.
- Comfortable working in a busy, high-volume environment with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Exceptional communication skills with a genuine desire to work with diverse patient populations.
Preferred:
- Experience in outpatient psychiatric care or community mental health settings.
- Familiarity with eClincalWorks (ECW)
