Position Overview
The City of Sharonville is seeking a dependable, customer-focused professional to serve as an Event Service Assistant at the Sharonville Convention Center. This full-time position plays an important role in supporting the successful execution of meetings, conferences, banquets, public shows, and special events by assisting clients, guests, and Convention Center staff throughout each event.
Working closely with the Event Manager and facility staff, the Event Service Assistant helps coordinate event logistics, provides exceptional customer service, and assists with event operations to ensure a positive experience for clients and guests. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, and be available to work a flexible schedule based on event needs.

The City Of Sharonville has a vacancy in the classification of Event Service Assistant at The Sharonville Convention Center. This is a full-time position. All application and employment procedures will be administered and monitored by The Sharonville Civil Service Commission.
Wages and Benefits
Wages and benefits are very competitive. The pay rate for newly hired employees will be based on skills, education, job knowledge, and abilities. The current pay range is $20.00 per hour to $25.00 per hour. Paid vacation time, paid sick leave, an excellent retirement system, and other generous benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
Minimum Qualifications
Each applicant MUST (1) be at least 18 years of age as of the final date for submission of applications for employment (see below), AND (2) have attained a high school diploma or equivalency (GED) or any combination of training, education, or experience which demonstrates an understanding of customer service and problem solving. Applicants must be available to work a flexible and irregular schedule including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Qualifications

- Combination of training, education or experience which demonstrates an understanding of customer service and problem solving.

Essential Functions
(For purposes of 42 USC 12101)
- Responsible for welcoming and assisting customers and visitors as well as supporting our Event Manager with all event function details (including signage, room sets, greeting customers and other as needed assistance).
- Maintain high customer visibility and be present during event times.
- Ongoing communication with both the on-site planner and our Event Manager and other staff during event times in order to disseminate new or updated information to staff as it becomes available.
- Serves as a secondary liaison between clients and facility staff to ensure optimal customer service.
- Performs additional duties as assigned by the Event Manager deemed necessary to the operation of the Convention Center during event times.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Abide by the Standards of Conduct as defined by City Administration.
- Must be able to work independently without close supervision.
Minimum Acceptable Characteristics
Knowledge of:
Cultural awareness and sensitivity; customer service principles; City and Convention Center policies and procedures.
Skill in:
Computers (Microsoft Office and ability to learn other programs); attention to detail; high degree of organization; professionalism; excellent communication; and problem-solving skills.
Ability to:
Perform under pressure and have a desire to work in a fast-paced work environment; work under limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff, including management; handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and perform light lifting and carrying at times.
