This is a remote opportunity for an engineer who combines IT operations expertise with automation and AI-driven solutions to improve how modern teams work.
The role focuses on building scalable systems that simplify employee technology experiences and strengthen operational efficiency.
You will design, implement, and maintain automation workflows across the full IT lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
Working closely with security and business stakeholders, you will help create reliable, secure, and compliant technology foundations.

As an Operations & Automation Engineer, you will own the systems, processes, and automation initiatives that keep a remote organization running efficiently. You will combine hands-on IT support with engineering skills to create scalable solutions, improve employee experiences, and strengthen operational maturity.

• Design, develop, and manage AI-powered automations and internal tools that streamline employee IT workflows, including onboarding, device provisioning, access management, compliance processes, and offboarding.
• Own the IT automation roadmap by identifying repetitive tasks, building solutions, measuring impact, and continuously improving operational efficiency.
• Provide day-to-day IT support for employees, handling software access requests, account provisioning, device issues, and technical troubleshooting.
• Manage and optimize mobile device management systems for an Apple-based workforce, including device enrollment, software deployment, security configurations, and compliance monitoring.
• Own the complete laptop lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, repairs, and asset recovery.
• Administer core IT platforms such as identity management, collaboration tools, ticketing systems, endpoint security solutions, and related integrations.
• Automate employee onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure fast, secure, and consistent access management.
• Support IT compliance and governance activities, including access reviews, audit preparation, documentation, and policy enforcement.
• Partner with leadership teams on software renewals, vendor management, contract optimization, and SaaS cost efficiency.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, system records, and automation runbooks to support long-term scalability.
• Identify opportunities to introduce AI-assisted workflows and modern automation approaches across business operations.

The ideal candidate is a technically curious and independent professional who enjoys building solutions, improving systems, and operating effectively in a remote-first environment.

• 3+ years of experience in IT Operations, IT Support Engineering, Systems Administration, or a similar technical role within a distributed organization.
• Hands-on experience building production automations using LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar AI platforms.
• Strong scripting skills in Python, JavaScript, Bash, or related technologies, including experience working with REST APIs.
• Experience managing Apple device environments through MDM platforms such as Kandji, Jamf, or Intune.
• Experience administering identity and access management platforms, including SSO configuration, SCIM provisioning, and lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with endpoint security solutions such as SentinelOne or similar tools.
• Proven ability to design and maintain automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational performance.
• Experience supporting IT compliance frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar standards.
• Experience managing remote hardware operations, including device provisioning, shipping, refresh cycles, and asset tracking.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document processes clearly and collaborate remotely.
• A builder mindset with strong ownership, adaptability, and the ability to work independently in ambiguous situations.
• Nice-to-have experience with Jira administration, GRC platforms, SaaS vendor management, AI-powered internal tools, or automation projects with measurable business impact.
