The Branch Service Representative serves as liaison between the member and the Credit Union. Responsible for processing member transactions, maintaining a cash drawer, providing account information and solutions to members, and opening new accounts. Attends to all telephone, online and walk-in inquiries from members. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of EFCU Financial products and services, and for making recommendations to members for products and services. Responsible for assisting members in a professional and courteous manner with any and all questions or problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Member Experience & Service Delivery

1. Assist members with routine financial transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, and check cashing.
2. Respond to member inquiries via phone, online channels, and in person in a courteous and professional manner.
3. Open and maintain member accounts including savings, checking, certificates, and IRAs.
4. Provide accurate information regarding Credit Union products, services, and policies.
5. Support basic lending needs by facilitating loan applications and assisting with loan-related questions.

Operational Accuracy & Cash Handling

1. Maintain and balance an individual cash drawer daily with accuracy and adherence to policy.
2. Ensure compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act including CTR, SAR, and CIP requirements.
3. Process file maintenance, account changes, and member requests correctly and timely.
4. Support safe deposit box procedures including opening, access, and documentation.

Compliance, Security & Risk Management

1. Ensure adherence to all Credit Union policies, regulatory requirements, and security procedures.
2. Protect member information and always maintain confidentiality.
3. Report suspicious activity and follow established fraud prevention procedures.
4. Ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and secure.

Member Engagement

1. Actively identify and recommend products and services that meet member needs.
2. Achieve or exceed referral and sales goals
3. Counsel members regarding financial solutions and money management as appropriate.

Team Support & Collaboration

1. Maintain effective working relationships with team members and leadership.
2. Communicate issues, trends, or member concerns to leadership.
3. Participate in training and cross-training activities to enhance operational knowledge.

Other Duties

1. Support branch operations on Saturdays as scheduled.
2. Act as backup to the Contact Center as needed.
3. Other duties as assigned.

Pay Grade: 7NE - Non-exempt

Starting hourly rate between $21.00 - $23.49 based on experience

Critical Knowledge, Skills, and Educational Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year experience in member services/customer service in a full-service financial institution or cash handling experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and education.
• Good understanding of member services, loan services, polices, and procedures and products provided preferred.
• Understanding of member bookkeeping procedures, related legal and regulatory standards, and required loan documentation preferred.

• Knowledge of consumer and residential lending practices, and credit union products and services with a thorough understanding of Real Estate Lending preferred.
• Interpersonal skills including trust, diplomacy, courtesy, and tactfulness in working with others.

• Effective decision-making skills, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.

• Must pass all credit and bond requirements.
• Knowledge of Credit Union products and services is a plus.
