Child Care Specialist in Gilbert, Arizona at Soar Autism Center

At Soar Autism Center, Child Care Specialists, also known as Behavior Technicians, help children ages 2 to 6 with autism learn, communicate, and grow through play. Our care is based on the Early Start Denver Model, a play-based approach to Applied Behavior Analysis. This in-person, center-based role offers hands-on experience in child development, psychology, education, and behavioral health.

This is an entry-level opportunity. Prior RBT certification is not required for most locations because Soar provides paid training and supports team members in earning and maintaining the credential. The role may be a strong fit for people with experience in childcare, daycare, education, caregiving, paraprofessional support, direct support, or behavioral health.

What You Will Do

• Provide one-on-one, play-based ABA therapy to young children in a center setting.
• Follow individualized care plans created by clinicians in behavior analysis, speech therapy, and occupational therapy.
• Observe and document each child's progress using a computer or tablet.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team and share updates that support consistent, high-quality care.
• Soar provides paid training for RBT certification and ongoing professional development. Through the Soar to New Heights career progression program, team members are considered for raises and promotions every three months as they build skills.
• Longer-term career paths may include behavior analysis, psychology, speech therapy, occupational therapy, training, operations, and other behavioral health roles.

Pay and Benefits

• $21.50 - $28.50/hour. Initial offers are typically $21.50 to $22.75 per hour, with regular bonus and promotion opportunities. A sign-on bonus is included with all offers.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, as verified by a resume, application, or BACB attestation for RBT certification.
• Ability to obtain and maintain RBT certification within the first six weeks of employment.
• Reliable transportation to the training location and local center, along with dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, and comfort using computers and tablets.
• Ability to sit, stand, kneel, change positions quickly, spend extended time on the floor, occasionally run short distances, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with children, especially ages 2 to 6. Enrollment in or completion of a college degree in child development, psychology, education, or a related field is also preferred.
