As an Anesthesia Technician, you will play an essential role in supporting the anesthesia team and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients throughout the perioperative experience. Working in collaboration with anesthesiologists and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs), you will provide technical and clinical support within the operating room and across the perioperative division. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with anesthesia providers, surgical teams, patients, and learners while helping maintain the equipment, supplies, and resources necessary for effective anesthesia care. As an Anesthesia Technician, you will contribute to a collaborative healthcare environment focused on patient safety, individualized care, education, and operational excellence.
A typical day for an Anesthesia Technician may include:

Collaborating with anesthesiologists and CRNAs to support individualized, age-specific patient care throughout the surgical suite and perioperative division

Providing technical assistance to anesthesia providers before, during, and after surgical procedures

Preparing, organizing, and maintaining anesthesia equipment, supplies, and materials to ensure they are readily available when needed

Assisting anesthesia providers with the setup and preparation of operating rooms for surgical and anesthesia procedures

Supporting patient care activities within the scope of the Anesthesia Technician role while maintaining a safe and organized perioperative environment

Monitoring the availability, functionality, and readiness of anesthesia equipment and supplies

Cleaning, stocking, maintaining, and appropriately storing anesthesia equipment and supplies according to departmental standards

Identifying equipment or supply needs and communicating concerns to the appropriate members of the anesthesia or perioperative team

Assisting with the orientation, education, and development of students, trainees, and other learners within the anesthesia department

Participating in required orientation programs, departmental education, training, and competency assessments

Maintaining accurate documentation related to required competencies, training, equipment, and departmental responsibilities

Collaborating with anesthesia providers, nurses, surgical staff, and other members of the perioperative team to promote efficient workflow and patient safety

Performing additional duties and responsibilities based on departmental needs and organizational requirements

Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician or completion of an applicable Anesthesia Technician training program is required

Current maintenance of Anesthesia Technician certification is required

Current maintenance of BLS Healthcare Provider Course completion status is required

Successful completion of all required orientation programs, departmental training, and competencies with appropriate documentation is required

Additional experience or training may be required based on specific departmental needs
