This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Payables Analyst based in Mexico.
This remote role offers the opportunity to play a key part in managing and scaling freight payables within a fast-growing e-commerce environment. You will oversee critical activities across freight invoice processing, accruals, reconciliation, and month-end close. Working closely with Transportation, Logistics, Treasury, and FP&A teams, you will help ensure freight costs are recorded accurately and on time. The role combines financial analysis with process improvement, reporting, and cross-functional problem solving. You will help strengthen internal controls and develop scalable processes that support increasing business complexity. Your insights and operational ownership will contribute directly to stronger financial outcomes and improved efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional process design and continuous improvement initiatives focused on strengthening internal controls and scaling freight payables operations.
- Own key month-end close activities, including financial statement variance analysis and identification of opportunities for greater efficiency.
- Support accurate and timely processing, accruals, and reconciliation of freight-related invoices and costs.
- Monitor credits and outstanding funds owed to the business and partner with Treasury on cash optimization and weekly payment processing.
- Design and deliver reporting, metrics, and financial insights that support issue identification and resolution.
- Analyze freight-related financial data and identify trends, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Drive cross-functional issue resolution through clear communication and effective collaboration with Transportation, Logistics, Treasury, FP&A, and other stakeholders.
- Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, deadlines, and financial controls.
- Identify and implement process efficiencies that improve the scalability and reliability of payables operations.
- Maintain a strong bottom-line focus while balancing operational requirements, stakeholder needs, and financial accuracy.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, payables, or a related business function.
- Working knowledge of GAAP and core accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data.
- Experience using analytics or reporting tools; SQL knowledge is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving and process-improvement mindset with the ability to identify root causes and develop practical solutions.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and competing deadlines.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapting processes as business needs change.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to financial accuracy, controls, and timely execution.
- Industry certifications and/or a graduate degree in a relevant field are preferred.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
