We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Consult Win Work Director to lead and optimise our work-winning strategy, strategic pursuits, and opportunity conversion performance across Consult and the wider Group.
About the role
This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving a disciplined, consistent, and high-performing approach to winning work. You will provide leadership and governance for major bids, must-win opportunities, and strategic pursuits, ensuring resources, processes, and decision-making frameworks are aligned to deliver sustainable growth, improve win rates, and strengthen client relationships.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, including the Director of Professional Services, Divisional Directors, Sector Directors, Business Development Teams, Commercial and Operational Leaders, Key Account Managers, the Executive Leadership Team, strategic clients, partners, and wider Group functions.
What you’ll do
· Develop and implement Consult’s work-winning strategy in line with growth objectives.
· Lead strategic pursuit planning for priority and must-win opportunities.
· Oversee major pursuits from opportunity identification through to contract award.
· Lead opportunity qualification, governance, and bid decision-making processes.
· Chair pursuit reviews and strategic bid governance meetings.
· Maintain visibility and oversight of the opportunity pipeline, conversion performance, and forecasting.
· Drive proactive client engagement and early opportunity development.
· Ensure opportunities are assessed against strategic fit, profitability, deliverability, and probability of success.
· Support pricing strategies, commercial reviews, and growth investment decisions.
· Drive consistency, efficiency, and best practice across opportunity management processes.
What we’re looking for
· Significant senior leadership experience in business growth, work winning, bid leadership, business development, or strategic pursuit management.
· Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance growth ambition, client requirements, delivery capability, profitability, and risk.
· Experience leading complex, multi-disciplinary opportunities across multiple projects, sectors, or business units.
· Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders, clients, partners, and internal teams.
· A disciplined approach to opportunity qualification, governance, pipeline management, and performance improvement.
· Ability to challenge constructively, make evidence-based decisions, and drive accountability across strategic pursuits.
· A collaborative leadership style, with experience building capability, coaching others, and creating high-performing teams.
