About the Position
Salary range: $60,000-$80,000
We are seeking an experienced paralegal to support a busy creditors' rights practice focused on collateral recovery, sequestration proceedings, replevin actions, and post-judgment enforcement throughout Texas.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience preparing and managing replevin petitions, writ applications, coordinating collateral recoveries, working with Texas courts, and supporting attorneys in commercial collection and secured creditor matters.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file replevin petitions and applications for writs of sequestration, and other prejudgment and post-judgment remedies.
- Draft supporting affidavits, notices, motions, proposed orders, and related pleadings.
- Coordinate with constables, sheriffs, process servers, and recovery vendors.
- Manage collateral recovery matters involving vehicles, equipment, inventory, and other secured assets.
- Conduct public-record searches.
- Maintain litigation calendars and track deadlines across Texas state courts.
- Assist with discovery, hearings, and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status, recovery efforts, and enforcement strategies.
- Utilize electronic filing systems in Texas state courts.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of paralegal experience in creditors' rights and/or collections.
- Experience preparing Texas replevin petitions and sequestration applications and related filings.
- Familiarity with Texas Rules of Civil Procedure governing prejudgment remedies and post-judgment collection.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a high-volume docket.
- Proficiency with electronic filing systems.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be someone who can independently manage replevin/sequestration and collateral-recovery matters from intake through execution, coordinate with clients and recovery vendors and law enforcement agencies, and proactively move files toward successful recovery of collateral.
