The Nurse Assistant/Home Health Aide Instructor is responsible for teaching Certified Nursing Assistant knowledge and skills in the classroom, lab and clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver dynamic classroom and hands-on clinical training for students enrolled in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program through demonstrations, simulations, and real-world healthcare applications.
  • Guide and support students in successfully completing required coursework, including Mandatory Reporter Training, Bloodborne Pathogens, Medical Terminology, Basic Anatomy, and HIPAA compliance.
  • Maintain high standards of accountability, professionalism, and student performance in both classroom and off-site clinical settings.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional resources and teaching methods to ensure compliance with state training requirements and enhance the learning experience.
  • Accurately maintain student Training Achievement Records and ensure all state-required documentation, reporting, and compliance standards are met.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support learners in achieving program competencies and certification readiness.

  • Infection Control and Safety Practices
  • Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
  • Vital Signs and Basic Patient Care Skills
  • Common Disorders and Body Systems
  • Communication and Professionalism in Healthcare
  • Employability and Workplace Readiness Skills
Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Current state certification, licensure, or accreditation as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Minimum of one year of experience supervising Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in a long-term care setting.
  • Strong communication and instructional skills with the ability to effectively teach and translate clinical knowledge into measurable learning outcomes.
  • Valid driver's license and eligibility for company-sponsored vehicle insurance.

Preferred: Extensive practical knowledge of trade and teaching experience. CPR/First Aid instructor certified.

Knowledge Required: Knowledge of methods needed to instill appropriate behavior as well as work and study habits in young adult students; documentation techniques and time management; and the ability to to read, comprehend, interpret, communicate, and execute instructions or directives fluently in English.
