Job Description

Position Description: Non-Exempt | Project Services Division | 8-15 Years Experience

What You'll Do

Advanced Design Create sophisticated engineering drawings from 3D Tekla models and AutoCAD, working independently on complex industrial and petrochemical projects. Lead design development while ensuring compliance with AISC, IBC, and ACI codes.

Project Expertise Analyze complex survey data, point cloud information, and geotechnical data for detailed project execution. Understand refinery front-end loading and detailed design phase engineering requirements.

Quality Leadership Review vendor documents and fabrication drawings while maintaining industry standards. Support project management with reporting tools and overtime flexibility as needed.

What You Bring

Must-Have Qualifications
  • Education: 2-year degree from technical school
  • Experience: 8-15 years in civil/structural design
  • Industry: Petrochemical/heavy industrial background required
  • Technical Skills: Structural steel, civil, concrete, earthwork design expertise
  • Software: AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, Civil 3D, Navisworks, MS Office
  • Certifications: Valid driver's license, ability to obtain TWIC card

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with laser scan and point cloud data
  • AISC, IBC, ACI codes and OSHA requirements familiarity
  • Project management and reporting tools proficiency
  • Detailed refinery project engineering understanding

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
  • Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry and answering calls.
  • Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
  • Must be able to lift 15 lbs if necessary.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for reading documents, computer screens, and technical materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally in-person, by phone, and via video conferencing.
  • Hearing ability adequate for meetings, presentations, and collaboration.
  • Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods while managing multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work irregular hours including evenings and weekends as business needs require.
  • Able to travel to job sites (local and/or remote) as project needs require.
  • Able to work in heavy industrial environments while wearing required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, fire-retardant clothing, gloves, etc.).
  • Able to climb ladders, stairs, and work on elevated surfaces.
  • Able to walk on uneven terrain and surfaces.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments during site visits.
