ABOUT SLOOMOO

Sloomoo celebrates joy through an interactive experiential world, focused on slime, hands-on play, and all things #satisfying. Sloomoo launched in October of 2019 with an immersive 12,000 square-foot experience in Soho, NYC, where hand-crafted, artisanal slime (dozens of textures and the most delicious scents), soothing ASMR, and wondrous delights (you can slingshot slime, walk on slime, design your own slime, and more) converge with glossy, contemporary design.

Sloomoo’s universe has expanded - there are now a total of 7 Institutes (NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, Charlotte, Washington DC) and 2 MiniMoos (Boston, Philadelphia) with more to come.

MiniMoos are smaller than the Institutes but packed with as much color, surprise, and play.

The brand has been featured in People Magazine, Vogue, the Today Show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, the Tamron Hall Show, Forbes, INC, and more.

The mission: Deliver joy, whether you’re a kid or kid-at-heart.

Position Summary

The Assistant General Manager supports the General Manager in leading the daily operations of the location. This role is responsible for helping manage the team, maintaining operational standards, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience. The AGM plays a key role in supervising the floor, supporting Leads and Slimetenders, managing guest flow, and maintaining a safe, organized, and engaging environment.

The AGM works closely with the General Manager to monitor staffing, labor, inventory, and operational execution while reinforcing Sloomoo’s culture and values across the team.

You will be key to upholding Sloomoo’s values:

1. Joy – Joy is our DNA. We spark wonder, play, and creativity in everything we do.

2. Accountability – We own it. Every action, every result—our name is on it.

3. Collaboration – Joy happens when we create together. We rise as one team.

4. Innovation – We push limits, dream big, and turn bold ideas into reality.

5. Inclusivity – Everyone belongs. Every voice matters.

6. Resilience – We pivot, solve, and grow stronger through every challenge.

7. Excellence – Good isn’t enough. We obsess over the details that make greatness.

Responsibilities:

Floor and Guest Experience

  • Run daily floor operations as manager on duty: opening and closing, station coverage, guest flow, and the moment-to-moment guest experience.

  • Resolve escalated guest concerns.

  • Hold the experience to standard including cleanliness, organization, merchandising, and operational readiness.

Team Leadership

  • Directly supervise Leads and Slimetenders on shift, assigning work, coach performance, and holding the team to Sloomoo’s policies and procedures.

  • Interview candidates and make hiring recommendations.

  • Deliver coaching and corrective action in partnership with the GM and HR.

  • Build and adjust the location's schedules to meet guest forecast demand within the labor budget. Publish schedules on time and manage call-outs and coverage.

Training and Certification

  • Own onboarding for new team members and drive station certification through observed behavior-based sign off.

  • Keep station certification records up to date through our LMS, and use weekly coverage to decide which certification comes next.

Safety and Compliance

  • Enforce safety standards across the location

  • Complete, review, and file incident reports. Escalate injuries, guest incidents, and employee relations matters to the GM and HR the same day.

  • Ensure timekeeping, breaks, and wage-and-hour compliance is followed on every shift.

Operations and Financials

  • Monitor daily labor against plan and adjust staffing accordingly.

  • Own daily admissions and retail operations in Ticketure and Shopify POS, including end-of-day reports.

  • Support merchandising standards, inventory courts, and product availability through accurate reporting in Accumatica.

  • Partner with Sloomoo Marketing to run birthday parties, group bookings, and private events.

  • Implement company initiative and operational improvements at Sloomoo location, and flag any operational inefficiencies back to the GM.

  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the location for extended periods, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds, and work in an environment with slime, scents, sound, and light.

Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in operations, hospitality, retail, entertainment, or guest‑facing management, with experience in supervising a team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Track record of coaching people and holding a standard under pressure.

  • Clear, direct communication with guests, with the team, and GM.

  • Sound judgement and decision making skills.

  • Strong organization and attention to detail; comfortable with scheduling, labor, and basic operation financials.

  • Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, and able to pick up other platforms as needed.

Preferred:

  • Experience in opening a new location or building a team from scratch.

  • Experience in experiential entertainment, family attractions, or events.

  • Experience with Ticketure, Shopify POS, Accumatica, GoAudits, or comparable systems.

Inclusivity Commitment:

Sloomoo Inc. is a company that respects and welcomes the uniqueness of each employee and offers everyone the means to find their place and thrive. We are committed to equal employment opportunities, career development opportunities, and promoting initiatives aimed at creating a culture that is meaningful, innovative, and successful.
