DETAILS:

Reports To: Controller
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary Range: $50,000-$60,000/year, commensurate with experience.

Format & Schedule: Hybrid - remote work three days per week. Two days per week on-site at our corporate headquarters. Please note that relocation support is not available. Strong preference will be given to employees already in commuting distance.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The primary functions of this role are to support the Accounting Department by performing a variety of entry-level accounting and administrative functions. This role provides an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop foundational accounting skills and gain hands-on experience in general ledger accounting, cash management, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. The Accounting Coordinator works closely with the accounting team and assists with daily accounting operations while developing knowledge of accounting principles and company procedures.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with daily cash management activities, including monitoring bank accounts and bank reconciliations.
- Help re-allocate monthly expenses.
- Record journal entries and maintain supporting documentation.
- Respond to information requests from internal departments by gathering data and preparing standard and ad hoc reports.
- Assist with account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Process and verify accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities.
- Coordinate the completion and submission of ad hoc surveys and census reports, maintaining supporting documentation and ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Maintain organized accounting records.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
- Prepare spreadsheets and reports using Microsoft Excel.
- Various additional ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and develop accounting knowledge.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Recent graduates encouraged to apply.
- 0 to 3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related experience.
- Internship experience in accounting or finance is a plus.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Microsoft Dynamics GP is preferred but not required.
- Experience in healthcare, physician practice management, or anesthesia services preferred.
