Job Summary

The Team Lead is a hands-on working leader responsible for day-to-day activities within an assigned warehouse or production function — which may include order fulfillment, inventory handling, fragrance/product pouring, or raw material repackaging. The Team Lead is expected to be a subject-matter expert and trainer across their assigned area, driving safety, quality, and productivity while fostering a positive, team-oriented environment. This is a non-supervisory leadership role — the Team Lead has no direct reports but is expected to earn the trust and cooperation of department staff through expertise, consistency, and clear communication. The Team Lead partners closely with Department Managers and the Sr. Operations Manager to keep daily operations running smoothly.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership:

· Lead by example — guide and complete day-to-day activities in assigned area, working alongside staff rather than directing from a distance.

· Ensure safe, accurate, quality, and efficient operations across the team.

· Recognize performance or workflow issues in real time, redirect and coach staff at the shop floor level, and escalate formal performance concerns to the Department Manager with documentation as needed.

Day-to-Day Activities:

· Assign work to department staff using ERP/WMS reporting.

· Complete department tasks as needed (e.g., picking, packing, pouring, repackaging, or other assigned production functions).

· Identify and report roadblocks to the Department Manager.

· Identify and investigate inventory, quality, and accuracy gaps.

· Coordinate workflow — report labor deficiencies or surplus to the Department Manager.

· Review and post KPIs; ensure the department is meeting demand expectations, and immediately report labor, quality, productivity, or safety concerns to the Department Manager.

· Complete shift-end reports.

· Train department staff on tasks and procedures.

· Available to work overtime and weekends as required.

Safety & Compliance:

· Maintain a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.

· Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling procedures, including safe handling of chemicals, fragrances, and raw materials as applicable to assigned area.

· Train employees on safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

Other Duties:

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

· 3+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or production environment.

· Demonstrated ability to earn credibility and cooperation from coworkers without formal supervisory authority — comfortable coaching, redirecting, and holding the line on standards in the moment.

· Strong computer skills, including 2+ years of experience with a WMS, ERP, or other operations management software; proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables, basic reporting) and the Microsoft Office suite; ability to learn new systems and reporting tools quickly.

· Demonstrated mastery of assigned functional area.

· High attention to detail.

· Willing and able to perform all tasks within the department, not just direct others.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.

· Ability to work both independently and as part of a group.

· Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Education

· High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

· Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.

· Regularly lift up to 50 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

· Bend, squat, climb, and perform repetitive motions as needed.

· Push or pull carts and materials up to 500 lbs.

· Tolerance for working around fragrances, oils, or natural ingredients
