Description:

Engineering excellence, built on people-first values.

At LUZCO, we’re more than an engineering firm — we’re a familia. We pair technical excellence with a culture rooted in respect, flexibility, and genuine care for one another. Here, you're known by name, supported as a whole person, and encouraged to bring your authentic self to work with competitive benefits, and the flexibility to support life both inside and outside of work.

We’re proud to be a 2025 and 2026 Best Place to Work in St. Louis and a woman-owned, minority-owned boutique firm, delivering impactful engineering solutions in a workplace where people feel valued and empowered to grow.

Why You’ll Love LUZCO

  • Benefits that take care of you: Top-notch medical, dental, and vision insurance; a competitive 401k match; generous PTO; student loan repayment assistance; and an employee recognition platform that celebrates your wins big and small.
  • Flexibility that fits your life: We get that life doesn’t always stick to a schedule. You’ll work with your supervisor to create a schedule that’s flexible and works for both you and the team.
  • Diversity that fuels innovation: Our team brings together a wide range of backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. That diversity isn’t just something we talk about; it’s what drives our creativity and helps us find better ways to solve problems.
  • Growth that feels personal: Whether you’re continuing your education, earning new certifications, or stepping into new challenges, we’re here to help you grow in the direction that’s right for you. You’ll collaborate with experienced mentors and leaders who want to see you succeed.
  • A culture that gives back: We’re passionate about our communities. Every year, we dedicate paid time off for volunteering and encourage our team to use their talents to make a difference whether that’s mentoring students, serving local nonprofits, or getting hands-on in community projects.
  • A workplace that feels like you: We keep things relaxed and welcoming. Expect weekly happy hours, team lunches, a stocked kitchen, dogs in the office, and a casual dress code. It’s a space where you can be yourself and do your best work.

The Role

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys leading teams, solving complex challenges, and supporting critical energy infrastructure projects. In this role, you’ll lead the early planning and development of transmission and substation projects, guiding them from concept through initial design before transitioning to execution teams. You’ll partner with technical teams, manage scope, schedule, and financials, and serve as a key client contact.

What Your Day Will Look Like

  • Coordinate and lead project kick-offs, forming and guiding teams to refine and clarify project scope.
  • Manage projects from concept through development, handing off to execution teams at approximately 30% of the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee multiple concurrent transmission and substation projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to understand project interdependencies and establish construction sequencing.
  • Maintain detailed project financials with support from cost analysts.
  • Maintain and update project schedules with input from scheduling teams.
  • Implement standardized project management lifecycle processes for consistent documentation and execution.
  • Apply technical expertise to guide projects through early development phases.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, managing coordination, planning, budgeting, and scope.
  • Oversee all aspects of development, including siting, permitting, estimating, engineering, right-of-way acquisition, procurement, material management, and construction management and constructability reviews.
