Job Description
We are seeking a detail‑oriented Project Estimator to support our telecommunications construction projects. In this role, you will evaluate project requirements, analyze technical documents, and prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and timelines. You will work closely with operations teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure estimates are competitive, complete, and aligned with project goals.
This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a passion for problem‑solving, and an interest in telecom or utility construction.
Key ResponsibilitiesReview requirement documents, blueprints, and project plans to fully understand project scope
Identify production factors that influence cost and project feasibility
Prepare detailed material takeoffs and cost estimates
Develop labor estimates for a variety of construction activities
Build and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors
Manage bid requests and evaluate vendor/subcontractor proposals
Use bid data to create comprehensive cost analyses
Present estimates and findings to management and project stakeholders
Track and record actual project costs for reporting and forecasting
Support project teams with additional tasks as assigned
Strong mathematics, statistics, and data analysis abilities
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to interpret technical documents and construction drawings
Experience preparing cost estimates and material takeoffs for large projects
Strong written communication and report‑writing skills
Proficiency with spreadsheets and database tools
Effective time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Excel or similar spreadsheet software
Familiarity with bid software or bid automation tools (entry‑level acceptable)
Entry‑level experience with CRM databases preferred
Entry‑level experience with Power BI preferred
Ability to use Google Earth or GIS platforms and create/edit KMZ files
Basic knowledge of telecommunications or utility construction terminology, including:
Directional drilling
Plowing
Trenching
Handholes
Fiber splicing
OSP/Fiber construction
