Day in the Life
As a Boiler Supervisor, you’ll play a critical role in leading the Boiler and Kilns while ensuring safety, quality, and production goals are met. Your day will include:
- Leading and supporting daily Boiler and Kilns operations
- Supervising and coaching hourly team members and lift drivers
- Monitoring drying schedules and making adjustments to improve product quality
- Ensuring fueling, kiln loading, and yarding operations run efficiently
- Addressing operational and quality issues across green and dry yarding
- Assisting with environmental reporting and regulatory compliance
- Supporting the Dry End Superintendent and filling in when needed
This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-performing team while contributing to the success of mill operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Dry End Superintendent with daily operations and departmental oversight
- Supervise, train, and develop Boiler hourly associates
- Oversee lift driver performance ensuring safety, productivity, and quality standards
- Ensure Planer Mill operational needs are supported through effective yarding operations
- Manage green and dry yarding quality and resolve performance issues
- Monitor kiln drying schedules and implement improvements as needed
- Ensure compliance with environmental guidelines and complete required reporting
- Plan and organize kiln charges, boiler fuel usage, and production
- Communicate operational issues and performance updates to leadership

Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Strong communication and team leadership abilities
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Supervisor experience
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Experience with kiln drying systems and yarding operations
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience in lumber, wood products, or manufacturing environments
- Experience in a wood-fired boiler operation
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb, stoop, kneel, and work at elevated heights
- Ability to work in industrial environments with noise, heat, and weather exposure
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, pushing, and pulling for extended periods
- Ability to work around moving equipment and industrial hazards

The base salary range for this position is $74,600- $111,900. Actual base salary is based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.
