We are currently seeking an experienced Elder Abuse Litigation Paralegal to join our growing team. This position offers the opportunity to work on meaningful cases involving vulnerable elderly individuals and their families while supporting attorneys in the pursuit of justice and maximum recovery for our clients.
Position Overview:
The Elder Abuse Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, from case intake through trial. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced litigation environment. This individual will work closely with attorneys, clients, medical providers, experts, and support staff to ensure cases are efficiently managed and prepared for successful resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with elder abuse litigation matters from intake through trial
- Draft and review pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, correspondence, and demand packages
- Prepare and organize exhibit binders, mediation materials, trial notebooks, and other case-related documents
- Communicate regularly with clients to obtain case updates, records, and supporting documentation
- Review, summarize, and organize medical records, facility records, deposition transcripts, and discovery responses
- Coordinate with medical providers, experts, vendors, and opposing counsel regarding case-related matters
- Assist with trial preparation, including witness lists, exhibit management, trial subpoenas, and courtroom logistics
- Manage litigation calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines and filing requirements
- Collaborate with attorneys and litigation staff to develop and execute case strategies
- Support the preparation of mediations, settlement conferences, and trial proceedings
- 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in elder abuse, medical negligence, wrongful death, or personal injury litigation
Qualifications:
- Strong calendaring and case management experience
- Experience reviewing and summarizing medical records, discovery responses, and deposition transcripts
- Familiarity with California court procedures, filing deadlines, and e-filing platforms
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Professional demeanor with a strong commitment to client service
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Bilingual Spanish is a plus
Compensation Range:
$30 – $45 per hour
