About the Role:

As a Co-op Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting engineering projects by applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges within a dynamic team environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in engineering design, analysis, and problem-solving while contributing to the development and improvement of products or systems. You will collaborate closely with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams to assist in the execution of technical tasks, data collection, and documentation. The role is designed to enhance your practical skills and understanding of engineering principles, preparing you for a successful career in the engineering field. Ultimately, your contributions will help drive innovation and efficiency in engineering projects, while you develop professionally through mentorship and continuous learning opportunities.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering degree program (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related fields).
  • Strong foundational knowledge of engineering principles and mathematics.
  • Proficiency in using engineering software tools such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) or simulation software.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Ability to commit to the full duration of the co-op term as specified by the program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in an engineering role.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or C++.
  • Experience with data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to the engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, testing, and analysis of engineering components and systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate project progress and findings.
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform engineering decisions and improve project outcomes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and project management to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving activities to address technical challenges and optimize performance.

Skills:

The required skills such as proficiency in CAD and engineering fundamentals are essential for daily tasks like designing components and conducting simulations, enabling you to contribute effectively to project development. Strong communication skills facilitate clear and concise reporting of technical information and collaboration with team members across departments.
