This senior-level role is focused on leading the preparation and management of complex, multidisciplinary environmental documentation under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), with a strong emphasis on nuclear-related projects. You will oversee the development of high-stakes environmental impact analyses supporting nuclear facilities across their lifecycle, including siting, construction, decommissioning, and waste management. Working remotely with cross-functional technical teams and federal stakeholders, you will ensure regulatory compliance and scientific rigor in all deliverables. The role requires deep expertise in U.S. nuclear regulatory environments, particularly NRC and DOE frameworks. You will also provide leadership in managing NEPA documentation strategy, quality control, and client engagement. This position is highly specialized and mission-critical, contributing directly to national-level environmental and energy decision-making.
- Lead and oversee the preparation of complex NEPA documentation for nuclear facilities and sites across multiple project phases
- Manage environmental impact analyses related to nuclear siting, construction, operations, decommissioning, and waste management
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Department of Energy (DOE) regulatory requirements
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality environmental assessments and impact statements
- Provide technical leadership in reviewing, validating, and finalizing NEPA deliverables and supporting documentation
- Guide project strategy, scoping, and execution for federally regulated environmental review processes
- Engage with clients and federal stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure regulatory alignment
- Maintain documentation quality, consistency, and scientific rigor across all NEPA outputs
- Support proposal development and contribute expertise to business development efforts when needed
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in environmental science, engineering, planning, or related field required
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in NEPA compliance and environmental impact analysis
- Demonstrated leadership in preparing and managing NEPA documentation for nuclear facilities or nuclear-related sites
- Strong background in nuclear sector projects, including siting, operations, decommissioning, or waste management
- Proven experience working with NRC and DOE regulatory frameworks and requirements
- Documented authorship or leadership of NEPA reports (citations required in application)
- Strong technical writing, analytical, and regulatory interpretation skills
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex federal environmental projects
- U.S. citizenship required with eligibility to obtain a security clearance
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills at senior and federal levels
