POSITION SUMMARY
The Tower MRL group is seeking a hands-on, organized, and self-motivated Fleet and Facilities Manager to support company operations at our Cottage Grove, WI office. This role is responsible for coordinating fleet maintenance, vehicle readiness, facility upkeep, equipment tracking, vendor coordination, and shop/warehouse organization.
The position supports approximately 50+ trucks and drivers and 10+ trailers across multiple departments and locations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude, good computer skills, experience working around trucks/equipment/facilities, and the ability to keep vehicle, equipment, and vendor records organized. Tower construction or telecom industry experience is strongly preferred.

POSITION DETAILS
Company: Tower MRL LLCJob Title: Fleet and Facilities Manager.
Location: 3452 Rothamer Road, Cottage Grove, WI 53527
Classification: Full-time, salaried exempt.
Salary Range: $60,000–$80,000 annually, depending on experience.
Schedule: Monday–Friday; early start preferred.
Reports To: Vice President of Operations.
Travel: Local travel required; occasional long-distance travel may be required.
Occasional after-hours response may be needed for truck breakdowns, facility issues, weather events, or other operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Fleet Management
-
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service scheduling for company trucks and trailers.

Monitor fleet telematics/GPS systems for maintenance alerts and vehicle issues.

Maintain fleet records including service logs, inspection records, and maintenance schedules.

Coordinate with company drivers, department leaders, vendors, and management to keep trucks operational and reduce downtime.

Assist with new truck setup, vehicle transfers, and repair follow-up.

Support cost control by identifying recurring repair issues, unnecessary downtime, and opportunities for maintenance improvement.
Truck and Equipment Support

Help ensure trucks are properly stocked and ready for scheduled field work.

Maintain truck inventory lists for tools, equipment, safety items, and common materials.

Track tool and equipment needs and truck inventory.

Coordinate repairs and maintenance for shop, truck, and facility-based equipment.

Support field operations through parts runs, material pickups, equipment movement, vehicle transfers, and trailer towing as needed.
Facilities, Shop, and Yard Management

Oversee day-to-day facility needs for the office, shop, warehouse, yard, storage areas, and truck bays.

Coordinate or perform routine facility and property upkeep, including shop organization, yard maintenance, snow removal, lawn care, drainage checks, and general exterior maintenance.

Coordinate vendors for specialized repairs or services, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, doors, gates, alarms, generators, and related facility systems.

Maintain organized storage areas for tools, parts, hardware, supplies, and materials.
Vendor Coordination and Documentation

Coordinate with vendors for fleet, facility, equipment, repair, towing, parts, and maintenance needs.

Obtain estimates, schedule service, follow up on repairs, and document completed work.

Purchase routine small parts, supplies, tools, and shop consumables as needed.

Work with department leaders and management on larger repairs, major purchases, and cost approvals.

Maintain accurate records using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint, fleet email, GPS/telematics systems, and maintenance logs.
Safety and Compliance Support

Track DOT inspections and related fleet documentation.

Support trailer inspections, truck safety checks, maintenance recordkeeping, and repair documentation.

Identify and report vehicle, equipment, facility, or safety concerns.
-
Coordinate accident-related repairs when needed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
-
Valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.
-
Ability to obtain and maintain DOT medical qualification.
-
Ability to tow trailers.
-
Forklift experience.
-
Bobcat/skid steer experience.
-
General mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
-
Experience with fleet, facilities, equipment, shop, warehouse, maintenance, construction, utility, field-service, or similar operations.

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and SharePoint.

Ability to create and maintain maintenance logs, spreadsheets, inventory lists, and organized records.

Ability to communicate effectively with drivers, technicians, foremen, department leaders, vendors, administrative staff, and management.

Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and work in office, shop, warehouse, yard, garage, and outdoor environments.

Ability to respond to occasional after-hours operational needs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

CDL.

Tower, telecom, utility, construction, or field-service industry experience.

DOT fleet compliance experience.

Fleet telematics/GPS administration experience.

Small engine repair experience.

Prior experience coordinating truck maintenance, facility maintenance, vendors, or equipment repairs.

Electrical, mechanical, or carpentry certification.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
The ideal candidate is mechanically capable, highly organized, self-motivated, practical, and comfortable moving between office work, shop work, vendor coordination, and field-support logistics. This person should be able to build systems, follow through on details, maintain detailed records, communicate across departments, and keep trucks, equipment, and facilities operational.
