Job Description

Lead UX Designer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead UX Designer based in the United States.

This is a high-impact design leadership role focused on shaping intuitive, technically complex software products used in industrial and engineering-heavy environments. You will lead end-to-end UX efforts across enterprise-grade platforms that support critical workflows in process manufacturing and system modeling. The role combines hands-on product design with strategic ownership, requiring both deep craft expertise and the ability to guide broader design direction. You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and domain experts to translate highly complex problems into clear, usable experiences. This position offers the opportunity to influence foundational design systems and elevate user experience across multiple product lines. It is ideal for a designer who thrives in technical environments and enjoys solving real-world, high-stakes user problems.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will own the end-to-end design of complex product experiences while shaping design standards and improving usability across enterprise tools used in highly technical industries.

  • Lead the design of end-to-end product experiences, from early concept development through high-fidelity execution and implementation.
  • Translate complex technical and engineering workflows into clear, intuitive, and user-centered interfaces.
  • Partner closely with product managers and engineers to define requirements, shape product direction, and ensure feasible, impactful design solutions.
  • Establish and evolve design systems, including reusable components, patterns, and guidelines to ensure consistency across products.
  • Lead UX projects independently while contributing to broader product strategy and roadmap discussions.
  • Mentor and support junior designers, providing feedback, coaching, and design leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless handoff and successful implementation of design solutions.
  • Advocate for user needs by conducting research, gathering feedback, and continuously improving product usability.
  • Contribute to improving design processes, tools, and collaboration practices across teams.
Requirements:

You bring deep product design experience and the ability to operate confidently in complex, technical, and enterprise environments.

  • 8+ years of product design experience, with end-to-end ownership of complex design projects.
  • Experience designing enterprise SaaS or B2B products, ideally in technical or engineering-focused domains.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma and modern product design workflows.
  • Experience building and scaling design systems, including documentation and component governance.
  • Ability to simplify highly complex workflows and translate them into intuitive user experiences.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and align cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and defining structure where little exists.
  • Understanding of technical systems and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams.
  • Experience incorporating modern AI-assisted design tools and workflows is a plus.
  • Strong balance of craft excellence and practical decision-making, with a focus on real-world impact.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package aligned with experience and market standards
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage
  • Flexible remote work arrangements
  • Generous paid time off and holiday policies
  • Opportunity to work on mission-critical, real-world industrial applications
  • Career growth opportunities within a fast-evolving product and engineering environment
  • Collaborative, cross-functional culture with strong technical partnership
  • Exposure to advanced engineering and scientific domains with high-impact use cases.
