Where You Fit In
As a Shop Manager on our in-house fleet team, you will oversee all aspects of vehicle and equipment maintenance, ensuring timely, high-quality repairs and adherence to company maintenance standards. This role coordinates daily operations, including inspections, seasonal reconditioning, inventory management, and expense tracking. You will lead shop staff, support training initiatives, and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while collaborating closely with branch teams to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee and perform high-quality, timely repairs, and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure operational readiness and safety
- Train and support team members on the proper use, care, and maintenance of vehicles and equipment
- Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities with branch personnel to minimize downtime, prioritize repairs, and maintain uninterrupted operations
- Lead seasonal maintenance and reconditioning programs, in accordance with fleet policies, and company quality and image standards
- Monitor equipment condition and report instances of misuse, abuse, accidents, or unsafe operation in a timely manner
- Manage shop purchasing, vendor relationships, and expenses by coordinating services, issuing purchase orders, and processing invoices accurately and within budget expectations
- Maintain accurate administrative documentation including maintenance records, inspection reports, mileage tracking, reconditioning logs, and shop expenses
- Assist the Regional Fleet Manager with asset tracking, inventory management, parts organization, and maintenance recordkeeping within fleet management systems
- Ensure shop facilities, fueling systems (if applicable), and maintenance yard areas remain clean, organized, safe, and fully operational
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve shop efficiency, preventative maintenance processes, fleet reliability, and overall operational performance
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Regional Fleet Manager
Qualifications:
- Safety-first mindset with a commitment to enforcing safety regulations and promoting safe work practices
- Ability to manage shop operations within budget expectations while maintaining high standards for quality, efficiency, and customer service
- Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a wide variety of vehicles, trailers, and equipment in a timely and effective manner
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a productive shop environment with accurate records
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly and professionally
- Demonstrated ability to consistently meet administrative requirements, including documentation, reporting, and compliance tasks
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external customers, representing the company in a positive manner, ensuring high-quality support
- Self-motivated and dependable, with a proactive mindset, strong work ethic, and a commitment to getting the job done right
