Senior Technical Consultant - Network Security

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Technical Consultant - Network Security in the United States.

This is a highly technical, client-facing consulting role focused on designing and delivering advanced network security solutions across enterprise environments. The Senior Technical Consultant will lead end-to-end engagements spanning firewall modernization, network access control, and SASE/Zero Trust architectures, helping organizations strengthen security posture while improving scalability and operational efficiency. You will work across multiple leading technologies, including next-generation firewalls, identity-based access systems, and cloud-delivered security platforms. The role combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with strategic consulting responsibilities, including solution design, implementation, and knowledge transfer. You will also play a key role in shaping secure network architectures aligned with compliance and Zero Trust principles. This position is ideal for an experienced security engineer who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys solving critical infrastructure challenges for clients.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead design and deployment of enterprise firewall solutions, including Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD/FMC) and Palo Alto Networks NGFW (PAN-OS/Panorama), ensuring high availability, scalability, and security best practices.
  • Manage firewall migrations and modernization initiatives, including ASA to FTD transitions and cross-vendor migrations with policy optimization and rule translation.
  • Architect and implement network segmentation, VPN solutions, and secure connectivity models using technologies such as IPsec, SSL/TLS, BGP, and OSPF.
  • Design and deploy Cisco ISE-based network access control solutions, including 802.1X authentication, TACACS+, TrustSec, guest access, and posture assessment.
  • Implement and optimize SASE and Zero Trust architectures using platforms such as Zscaler, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Cisco Secure Access, and Netskope.
  • Integrate security solutions with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), identity providers (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID), and enterprise SIEM tools (Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel).
  • Lead discovery workshops, architecture design sessions, and technical documentation efforts, including HLD/LLD, runbooks, and implementation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership throughout project lifecycles, including troubleshooting, escalation support, and mentoring of junior engineers.
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in network security, infrastructure security, or security engineering, including at least 3 years in a consulting or client-facing role.
  • Hands-on expertise with Cisco Secure Firewall (FTD/FMC) and Palo Alto Networks NGFW (PAN-OS/Panorama) in production environments.
  • Proven experience deploying and managing Cisco ISE for enterprise network access control, including 802.1X, TACACS+, and policy enforcement.
  • Strong experience with at least one SASE platform (Zscaler, Prisma Access, Cisco Secure Access, or Netskope), including SWG, CASB, and ZTNA capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), VPN technologies, and Zero Trust network architecture principles.
  • Experience working with cloud networking environments across AWS, Azure, or GCP, including hybrid connectivity and security controls.
  • Familiarity with identity and access management systems (Okta, Microsoft Entra ID, SAML, SCIM) and their integration into security architectures.
  • Experience integrating security platforms with SIEM tools and automation frameworks such as Splunk, Sentinel, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Strong consulting skills, including client communication, solution design, documentation, and stakeholder management.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation package with an estimated OTE of $170,000 – $200,000, based on experience and location.
  • Comprehensive healthcare coverage including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan (401(k)) with company participation.
  • Generous paid time off, paid holidays, parental leave, and caregiver support.
  • Professional development support including certifications, training, and access to advanced technology labs.
  • Strong culture of inclusion, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Exposure to leading-edge network security, Zero Trust, and cloud security technologies.
  • Opportunities to work on high-impact enterprise transformation projects across diverse industries.
