Position Summary

The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating supply planning, purchasing, inventory management, production planning, and material availability to support customer demand and operational objectives.

This position requires a hands-on leader who can balance customer requirements, inventory levels, supplier lead times, production capacity, and changing business priorities. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with Fulfillment, Production, Sales, Engineering, Quality, and suppliers, including international manufacturing and supply partners.

A key responsibility of this role is ensuring that accurate supply information is available to the organization so that realistic customer delivery commitments can be made and achieved.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead supply planning activities to ensure material and finished goods availability in support of customer demand.

· Review current and future demand and translate requirements into purchasing and production plans.

· Manage purchase orders and supplier requirements, including order placement, delivery dates, shortages, expedites, and past-due orders.

· Maintain accurate and realistic supplier lead times and expected delivery dates within the ERP system.

· Work closely with international manufacturing and supply partners to confirm material availability, production schedules, lead times, and delivery commitments.

· Monitor open sales orders, purchase orders, production orders, inventory, and forecasted demand to identify potential shortages or delivery risks.

· Develop and maintain effective safety stock levels based on demand, lead time, supply risk, and customer requirements.

· Identify excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory and develop appropriate corrective actions.

· Support Available-to-Promise (ATP) and material availability analysis to provide Fulfillment and Sales with reliable delivery information.

· Coordinate production planning and scheduling based on customer demand, material availability, capacity, and business priorities.

· Work with Fulfillment to ensure customer orders have realistic and supportable delivery dates.

· Proactively identify supply chain risks and communicate potential customer or production impacts before they become critical.

· Develop and maintain supply chain KPIs covering areas such as supplier delivery performance, inventory, shortages, past-due orders, customer delivery performance, and forecast/demand coverage.

· Ensure ERP data affecting planning and purchasing is accurate and maintained, including lead times, order dates, inventory parameters, safety stock, and planning information.

· Analyze supply chain data using Excel, ERP reporting, dashboards, and other analytical tools to support business decisions.

· Lead continuous improvement and Kaizen activities focused on reducing inventory, improving material availability, shortening lead times, and improving planning accuracy.

· Develop, document, and maintain standard work and supply chain processes.

· Work cross-functionally with Sales, Fulfillment, Production, Engineering, Quality, Accounting, and management to resolve supply and customer delivery issues.

· Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to supply chain/planning personnel and establish clear ownership and accountability within the team.

Requirements:

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience will also be considered, such as A.P.I.C.S. certification.

· 5+ years of experience in supply chain, materials planning, purchasing, production planning, or manufacturing operations.

· Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.

· Strong understanding of MRP/ERP-based planning, inventory management, purchasing, and production scheduling.

· Experience working in a manufacturing or technical product environment strongly preferred.

· Experience working with international suppliers or manufacturing locations is desirable.

· Strong analytical skills with the ability to convert ERP and operational data into actionable decisions.

· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.

· Experience with Acumatica, SAP, or similar ERP/MRP systems preferred.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to changing customer and operational requirements.
