Community Market Assistant in Boston, Massachusetts at Codman Square Health Center Inc

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Food Pantry / Community Market Coordinator, the volunteer will assist with the duties necessary to assure a healthy, safe distribution of food to community members.

Primary Responsibilities:

? Assist with receiving food orders as needed

? Registration, sign in/out of families coming to receive food

? Set up displays, stock shelves and refrigerators

? Monitor crowd flow and assist members shopping to assure item limits are adhered to

? Assure the area stays clean at all times

? Clean up and remove trash at the end of each day

Other duties and/or other departments/locations as applies.

Qualifications & Skills:

? High School diploma or equivalent

? Excellent communication skills

? Bilingual a plus

Physical Requirements:

· Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods (at least 50% of the time)

· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and load onto shelves

· Visual acuity sufficient for frequent reading and computer use

Pay Range: $18 to $26 Hourly. Compensation is commensurate with years of experience.
