Job Description
Main Purpose:
The Overhead Crane Technician is responsible for the Inspection, Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial lifting systems. They ensure overhead cranes operate safely and complies with all safety standards to minimalize down time.
Essential Functions:
- Conduct routine preventative maintenance, load test, and root cause analysis
- Read electrical schematics , program variables, and repair motors, festoons, and pendant controls
- Repair or replace heavy components such as gears, wheel bearings, wire ropes, hook blocks and brakes
- Perform other duties assigned by supervisor

Physical Requirements:
- Standing, sitting, walking, stooping, kneeling, climbing, feeling, talking, hearing and seeing
- Turning, twisting, bending and balancing
- Pushing, pulling and reaching
- Must be able to lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally 50-75 pounds
Job Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of 2 years experience with overhead cranes mechanics
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen and physical
- Must be able to pass a background check
Desirable Experience, Education and Training:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Tools, Equipment and Technology:
- Voltage meters, pilers, screw drivers and all other tools used in the maintenance of Overhead Cranes.
Environmental Conditions:
80 to 90% of the work activities are performed outdoors in a shop. Individuals will be required to work in changes of temperature, hot, cold, humid, wet, and dry conditions, dust, mud, etc.
