Position SummaryThe Dining Room Lead is a working leadership position responsible for maintaining exceptional hospitality standards, resident satisfaction, operational execution, and front-of-house team accountability. The Dining Room Lead serves as the service standard bearer during assigned shifts and provides leadership support in dining room operations, bartending, training, coaching, and resident engagement.
CompensationLead Shift Differential: Employees assigned and scheduled as Dining Room Lead will receive a temporary hourly rate of $23.00 per hour during designated Lead shifts only. Employees will revert to their standard hourly rate when not scheduled as the Lead. Lead assignments remain at management discretion based upon operational needs, performance, and staffing requirements.
Schedule Requirements• One designated AM Lead and one designated PM Lead.
• Required to work one weekend day every other week.
• Must support holidays, special events, brunches, and resident functions.
• Maintain flexibility to support alternate shifts as needed.
• Minimum 2 years restaurant or hospitality experience.
• Minimum 1 year serving experience.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities.
• Bartending knowledge and ability to prepare beer, wine, and cocktails.
• Strong communication and resident service skills.
• Proficiency with POS systems.
• Ability to coach and train staff.
• Lead by example in professionalism, appearance, punctuality, and hospitality.
• Reinforce Symphony Park Steps of Service.
• Conduct table touches and monitor resident satisfaction.
• Coach team members in real time.
• Ensure dining room readiness and side work completion.
• Support onboarding and training.
• Assist with conflict resolution and service recovery.
• Communicate effectively with culinary and management teams.
• Greet residents warmly and by name whenever possible.
• Ensure residents are acknowledged promptly.
• Present daily specials and beverage recommendations.
• Verify order accuracy and dietary requests.
• Follow up within two minutes of meal delivery.
• Maintain an elevated hospitality culture.
• Execute beverage service professionally.
• Maintain bar cleanliness and organization.
• Promote wine pairings and specialty beverages.
• Monitor inventory and communicate shortages.
• Train staff on responsible alcohol service.
• Support beverage revenue initiatives.
• Complete opening walkthroughs.
• Verify dining room, coffee stations, POS, and service readiness.
• Lead breakfast and lunch execution.
• Monitor staffing deployment.
• Manage reservations and resident flow.
• Conduct pre-shift huddles when needed.
• Lead dinner service execution.
• Oversee evening bar operations.
• Coordinate reservations and seating flow.
• Execute elevated service standards for Jacobin and special events.
• Verify closing duties and facility readiness for the next day.
• Resident satisfaction scores and feedback.
• Service standard compliance.
• Dining room cleanliness.
• Side work completion.
• Beverage sales performance.
• Attendance and reliability.
• Leadership effectiveness and staff development.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
