Role Overview: Why This Role Exists
Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois (BGCNCIL) is preparing for its next era of transformational growth—expanding from 52 sites today to 100 sites serving thousands more youth across our region
The OJJDP Coordinator exists to support the deliverables of the OJJDP grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice & Delinquency Prevention and support and supervise a team of Social Work Interns
This is an introductory supervisory role for an operations leader who knows how to meet deadlines, support the growth and accountability of their team, and think outside the box while keeping kids, staff, and quality at the center of every decision.
The OJJDP Coordinator is a core partner to the Director of Emotional Well-Being, on-site operations team, finance team, and Social Work Interns, responsible for ensuring that as BGCNCIL grows, our program quality, operational discipline, and culture grow with it.

Key Responsibilities
People Leadership
- Onboard, train, and supervise a team of Social Work Interns at OJJDP grant funded locations by providing clear and simple instructions to ensure that they understand the rules, expectations, and directions of their role
- Provide constructive feedback, encouragement, and recognition for team of Social Work Interns at OJJDP grant funded locations during weekly check-in meetings
- Offer professional development opportunities for Social Work Interns
- Consult and support Social Work Interns with emotional support strategies for youth
Grant Management
- Maintain data-driven goals through pre- and post-assessments of youth and feedback from Operations team on Social Work Interns
- Maintain OJJDP programming curriculum and make necessary changes based on updates to curriculum and requests based on specific youth needs
- Ensure completion and organization of OJJDP tasks including the Youth Application for Mentoring, Mentorship Process Plan, Mentee Risk and Activity Tracking Form, Mentor Application, Fitness Determination Form, Quarterly Report, and Mentoring at Boys & Girls Club training on SLU
Organizational Partnership
- Work with Director of Emotional Well-Being and Family Support Services Assistant to identify needs of youth and refer families to services as needed
- Support with organizational training needs
- Maintain positive and professional communication & relationships with youth, staff, parents, and community partners
- Assist with special projects and assignments directed by the Director of Emotional Well-Being
- Incorporate Trauma-Informed practices in all interactions
- Operate under the standards and supervision of the Programming team in alignment with the Strategic Practices

Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or higher.
- Experience working with kids or teens is preferred.
- Prior management experience is preferred.
- Prior non-profit work experience is a plus.
