Description:

Phlow Corporation is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Maintenance E&I to join our team at the Petersburg, VA manufacturing plant. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production equipment safety, quality, and performance. This position is looking for someone who is eager to be hands on with equipment repairs and has a keen eye for potential equipment failures and process improvements.

Requirements:
  • Working Shift hours and flexible to possible shift time changes. (This is an overtime eligible position.)
  • Be on-site during all working hours.
  • Possibility of being “on call” during off hours.
  • Hands on work resolving emergency equipment breakdowns, routine repair work, and other preventative maintenance jobs.
  • Daily work will include a mix of responding to equipment failures as they occur, completing scheduled equipment servicing/inspections, completing GMP documentation, and helping drive new opportunities for improvements.
  • Assist operations in achieving their production timelines by ensuring equipment is in good operating condition and responding to emergency breakdowns in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the other department teams on process improvements.
  • Job may require employee to get PAPR or Respirator certified.
  • Perform calibrations on process and analytical instrumentation
  • Developing and improving maintenance procedures
  • Installing, maintaining, repairing, overhauling, calibrating, and testing a wide variety of industrial instrumentation such as control valves, transmitters, radars, levels, flow, pressure, and temperature meters
  • Perform electrical repair, installation and troubleshooting of three phase 480v AC and low voltage systems
  • Document all maintenance actions performed into the maintenance work order system and record materials and parts consumption
  • Learn and apply continuous improvement programs such as root cause analysis, 5S and other waste elimination strategies
  • Study manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating or commissioning newly acquired machinery

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Trade school certificates/licenses or associate degree.
  • 5yr+ Experience in Manufacturing as an Industrial E&I
  • Good documentation skills.
  • Hands on repair skills.
  • Ability to work within a team of diverse backgrounds.
  • Good communication, team player, flexible, self-motivated, and decision maker.
  • Professionalism.
  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Continuous learning attitude.
  • Can read schematics (electrical line diagrams, P&IDs).
  • Safe, clean, and organized work habits.
  • Familiar with what tools are correct for specific tasks.
  • Proficiency with electrical metering/reading devices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Food or Chemical Industry.
  • GMP experience.
  • Other trade skills/licenses/experience (HVAC, pipefitting, welding, machinist, construction, etc.).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Experience editing existing schematics (red lining).
  • Proficiency with PLC programming, onboard HMIs, VFD interfaces, and digital control systems (DCS).
  • Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Working Conditions:

  • Work environment includes exposure to chemical materials and high noise areas.
  • Must have a high consciousness for personnel and equipment safety.
  • May be required to use various personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and protective clothing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent reaching, bending, twisting, turning, and climbing.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs for extended periods.
  • Work in various positions such as walking, standing, or sitting for prolonged durations.
  • May access confined spaces as needed.
  • Chemical exposure to cleaners, oil, grease.
  • Near and far visual acuity, including color vision and depth perception
  • Exposure to indoor factory conditions and outdoor environments with varying temperatures.
  • Job will require frequent physical activities such as climbing scaffolding/ladders, working at heights, confined space entry, standing or walking for extended durations, and lifting up to 50lbs routinely.
