Job Description

Senior UX/UI Designer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior UX/UI Designer in United States.

This role offers an opportunity to shape meaningful digital experiences for mission-driven organizations working in areas such as health, education, climate, and social justice. As a Senior UX/UI Designer, you will lead the creation of intuitive, visually compelling, and user-centered web products that help nonprofits and advocacy groups amplify their impact. You will collaborate closely with creative directors, strategists, developers, and clients to translate complex ideas into clear and engaging digital experiences. The position blends hands-on UX/UI execution with strategic design thinking, including information architecture, wireframing, and high-fidelity visual design. You will also play a key role in guiding client conversations, refining design systems, and ensuring consistency across deliverables. This is a highly collaborative, remote-first role where creativity, purpose-driven design, and attention to detail directly support positive social change.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the design of digital experiences across websites and web-based platforms, including UX flows, wireframes, visual comps, and UI components.
  • Translate strategy and content requirements into clear sitemaps, user journeys, and scalable design systems.
  • Create high-fidelity designs, interactive prototypes, and custom graphics that align with brand identity and project goals.
  • Collaborate with creative directors, strategists, developers, and clients to define project vision and ensure alignment across deliverables.
  • Present design concepts and guide clients through feedback, revisions, and approvals with confidence and clarity.
  • Maintain strong UX practices, including usability, accessibility, information architecture, and interaction design principles.
  • Contribute to discovery and user research activities where needed to inform design direction.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all design deliverables while managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of design systems and functional specifications.
  • Support documentation of design decisions and contribute to scalable UI frameworks and component libraries.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior designers and contribute to a collaborative creative environment.
  • Participate in internal reviews, brainstorms, and cross-functional collaboration to continuously improve creative output.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, digital product design, or web design, ideally within an agency or client-facing environment.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in UX workflows, visual design, and end-to-end digital product execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience building wireframes, prototypes, and design systems.
  • Solid understanding of UX principles, including usability, accessibility, information architecture, and content hierarchy.
  • Experience working with developers and understanding how design translates into front-end implementation.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate design rationale to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output under deadlines.
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress and familiarity with content structures is a plus.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Agency experience and familiarity with Agile or Waterfall workflows is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, and a user-centered design mindset.
  • Commitment to inclusive, accessible, and purpose-driven design practices.

Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly compensation aligned with experience ($75–$85/hr).
  • Fully remote contract role within the United States.
  • Opportunity to work on meaningful projects supporting nonprofits and social impact organizations.
  • Collaborative and values-driven creative environment.
  • Exposure to diverse clients across health, education, climate, and social justice sectors.
  • Opportunity to work closely with experienced creative directors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexible project-based workload (30–40 hours per week, 6-month contract).
  • Strong emphasis on learning, mentorship, and professional growth.
  • Inclusive workplace culture that values diversity, equity, and lived experience.
  • Opportunity to contribute to purpose-driven digital products with measurable social impact.
