- Completes supply requisitions in order for MM to place purchase orders which are accurate.
- Coordinates consignment inventory with designated vendors.
- Coordinates request for special orders from surgery staff and physicians. Reviews and obtains appropriate approvals to purchase.
- Coordinate and handles equipment repairs and loans with Bio Medical Department.
- Assist with the care and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
- Act as a resource to surgery staff in matters such as: purchasing procedures, product information, contract compliance, use of GPO contracts, etc.
- Reviews operating room schedule to determine if special orders need to be placed for items not carried “in –house”.
- Reviews the doctor’s order’s that are faxed over, from the doctor’s office, for any special orders that need to be placed.
- Coordinates communication of back orders and provide users with a release date. Determine if a substitute is needed.
- Establishes good vendor relationships by maintaining confidentiality of all prices, terms, and conditions and treating vendors respectfully and fairly
- Assist in setting up patient charges items.
- Assists the Director of Surgical Services/CNO for quotation requests, contract review, etc.
- Maintains tissue policies and logs.
