Industrial Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and maintaining manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role supports production operations by ensuring equipment reliability and minimizing downtime through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills and can work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Essential Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Maintain and repair AC/DC motors, motor controls, machine wiring, and production equipment.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Install, start up, modify, and decommission equipment in accordance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Analyze equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tooling, equipment performance, production processes, and overall efficiency.
  • Evaluate tooling and fixturing to determine appropriate repair methods and improvement opportunities.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, specifications, and maintenance documentation.
  • Create, update, and maintain preventive maintenance procedures and records within the maintenance management system.
  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate the ordering of replacement parts as needed.
  • Communicate equipment issues, repair status, and potential safety concerns to supervisors and production personnel.
  • Provide guidance to machine operators regarding safe equipment operation and basic troubleshooting practices.
  • Perform minor building and facility maintenance as required.
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors performing HVAC, custodial, landscaping, and facility maintenance services.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and equipment reliability.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair experience with:
    • Electrical and electronic systems
    • Mechanical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Pneumatic systems
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and testing equipment.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and maintenance software systems.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with team members.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with operators, supervisors, and management.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established safety procedures.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to work overtime and flexible schedules as needed.
Preferred
  • Technical degree, apprenticeship, or certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Lift and move materials weighing up to 100 pounds, with assistance when appropriate.
  • Work in elevated areas, confined spaces, and underneath equipment as necessary.
  • Possess manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required for maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ability to distinguish colors for electrical wiring and component identification.
  • Vision, with or without correction, sufficient to read small text and technical documents.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment that is climate-controlled, well-lit, and maintained year-round.
  • Exposure to moving machinery, compressed air systems, electrical equipment, and manufacturing materials.
  • Low to moderate noise levels.
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as designated.
